anyways apparently i’m feeling chatty on here again so time to explain who i am. my ao3 tag is OnlyForward & I’m predominantly an irondad writer on there. i yap about that stuff a lot on here.

however! this has been my tumblr blog since i was a young teenager. it is multifandom for a reason—i have a lot of interests which i may yap about and they may not be marvel/irondad fic related. this includes:

- mcyt + ukyt creators (predominantly tommyinnit & jack manifold, james marriott & willne)

- formula 1 drivers (mclaren supporter)

- marauders (i hate jkr and i’m trans so i no longer really post about them but it had a place in my heart back in the day)

- classic tumblr fandoms e.g. sherlock, dan and phil, and even, god forbid, twilight

- also other random things i have likely forgotten in writing this list and niche interests like dirk gently’s holistic detective agency which shaped my brain when i was 13. also general internet culture moments etc.

this is a heads up to people anyways if they’re surprised when i start yapping about tommyinnit! but yeah! pls use they/them pronouns. feel free to call me Only, it’s an internet nickname :)

there’s this alternate universe fic idea that genuinely lives in my head rent free. it’s of 20 year old peter parker owning a florist shop, because it was May’s shop and all he wants to do it keep it afloat after her death. but he’s struggling to make ends meet and life is hard in nyc. this version of peter parker is a lonely individual with severe trust issues.

until one day tony stark walks through the door to buy pepper a bouquet of flowers just because, and takes a real liking to florist!peter. he keeps coming back and they start becoming pals. peter ecstatic, because tony stark has always been his hero. tony’s baffled that a 20 year old is capable enough to keep a business afloat practically by himself, and admires the grit the kid has.

little does tony know that this boy that he starts thinking of over time as a surrogate son is actually also the friendly neighbourhood hero that he’s been keeping an eye on but has never had the pleasure to meet. or, at least, until he walks in to the florist shop and there’s peter, bleeding out on the floor, donning a familiar red and blue spandex suit.

anyway I wrote like 10k words of it back in the day but i’ve never had the energy to commit to finishing it.

nothing on this god's green earth can convince me that peter parker doesn't have an ao3 account where he is elbows deep in a 'rise of skywalker' fix-it fic. like, fully invested in it, been writing it pre-spider bite with ned, who is just as enthusiastic about it. but the thing is, it's really hard to do updates when you are literally spider-man.

every three months he'll post and in the author's note there's some shit like "sorry this took a while, i got shot seven times :/" or "i know it's been a minute, i literally got hit by a bus and then stabbed in the leg, but i'm all good!" or sometimes ned would log in and post with a note "hey i'm a friend posting on the author's behalf, they're healing from severe hypothermia but promised an update, so here it is!"

and the fic just gets increasingly more popular for the author notes alone. a good handful of the comments are something along the lines of "i'm not even in the star wars fandom, i'm just here to see if the author is good" or "every update i cheer for another day the author gets to live at this point"

and any reader who is a native new yorker kind of pieces together that holy shit the author might be spider-man because the timeline adds up, and they just fully embrace it. spider-man will stop a robbery and the guy behind the counter will ask when the next chapter will be up. spider-man returns a stolen backpack to a girl and she'll tell him that he "really got poe's voice down so well, it's really impressive."

ned thinks it is hilarious. mj finds out about the fic from twitter, to peter's absolute horror, and changes peter's contact name to "friendly neighborhood ao3 author". but the worst thing to happen is after an avengers battle where peter took a pretty big hit and ends up in med-bay. and during a press conference, when someone asks how spider-man is healing, tony just drops "spidey won't be down for too long. the star wars fic will be updated within the week, probably."

ao3 goes down for two days.

i feel like i’m in a fever dream. i just wrote an entire irondad oneshot fic out of nowhere over the last few hours. entirely unplanned and very much as out of the blue for me as it is for readers as well.

just finished writing the final chapter of the irondad florist au (among the wildflowers) and i fear it made me very emotional about these characters and this little world! they mean a lot to me and their journey was a great thing to explore properly :)

it has a lot of depiction of my own experience with mental health stuff and therefore is very personal to me. whilst i do not relate to wildflowers!peter parker entirely, there are definitely similarities. as such it’s quite a personal favourite of mine- so thanks for the love on it, it’s very much appreciated!!
