Gods And Abuse
It is unfortunate how common abuse is in this current climate. Physical, emotional, and mental abuse are unnoticed, encouraged, and suppressed from people's minds, and it digs the cycle of abuse deeper for past, present, and future victims.
The Gods do not stand for abuse of any kind. Even if it only happened once, even if you loved them, even if you stayed, even if you're the only person who thinks it was abuse, the Gods will believe you, and will be on your side and against your abusers. The gods are not neutral on your suffering.
Boethiah inspires me to stick up for myself. She understands that sometimes, we have to be the villain in other people's stories if we want to come out unbroken. He encourages me to connect with my anger, my strength, and my hatred - the parts of me that love me the same way she loves his followers.
(Boethiah does not abuse their followers, by the way. I mean this in the sense they want to protect you and will be angry on your behalf.)
Dibella does not see beauty in abuse or abusers, and inspires me to instead find it in my boundaries, communication, and hard no's. She is very kind and understanding of trauma and the effects that come with it, and is always there when I need someone to vent to. She finds beauty in recovery, in all its nonlinearity and complexity, and respects each person's path to healing.
