So I decided to do a test model. I didn’t quite pull the glow effect off, but I know how I’ll be doing oxidized bronze in the future.

I did a test piece for a space wolf paint scheme! I know, it’s not your traditional blue-grey, but I didn’t think the metallic red would work with that so I went with a more neutral grey. I picked up the technique for the red from my local GW manager. It’s really simple, just basecoat leadbelcher, wash with nuln oil gloss, glaze with spiritstone red, then wash with agrax earthshade gloss. I suppose you could toss in a silver highlight between washes somewhere if you were painting something with edges.

(Re)finished my first Test Thunder Warrior! The majority of my Cohort will bare the same grey armour, while Arik Taranis will most likely sport the classic gold and red.
