congrats on getting on t!!!! was the process easy? in a similar situation but scared to see if it was hard to get it
thank you friend! i am incredibly excited about it. starting on a low dose but i think i'll ask to bump it up a little at my next appointment. even with minimal changes so far, it has been so much more affirming than i thought it would be and it's given me a lot of mental health benefits already.
it was stupid easy to get on it, but i live in a trans safe haven state. i mentioned to my therapist wistfully that i'd always been interested in starting low-level t (and also having top surgery), assuming those were difficult or impossible things to do, and he laughed kindly and was like "i mean, we can make that happen." and he wrote me a letter confirming my dysphoria and i scheduled an appointment with the local gender affirming care doctor within my insurance network. had a consultation appointment where she showed me how to do injections and made sure i understood the risks/benefits/etc, and a week later, i had a vial of t in my hands from the pharmacy.
from mentioning it to my therapist to getting the testosterone script was under a month. crazy how easy it was. i want to encourage you to pursue it if it's something you're interested in (and can do safely in your situation). i so hope you can find a process that works for you the way mine worked for me!
