ATTENTION TRANSGENDER MEN (AND NONBINARY PEOPLE) WHO ARE ON T OR WANT TO GO ON T.
After spending roughly the past week editing and updating the testosterone page of The Transgender Dictionary, I can confidently say that its pretty comprehensive at this point. Check it out!
Please share your low dose t experience! Help me transition!
Hi! Hello! I have been looking quite a lot into low dose t as a transmasc nonbinary person, but I can't find a lot of people detailing their experiences with it in ways I find...useful..? I guess?
So, please, if you're comfortable and taking/took low dose t to masculinise or androgynise (?) yourself, I'd love to hear about your experience and effects, and when different things.. Happened.
Your dosage (naturally)
When did your voice begin changing, and at what rate? Did you like it? How much did it change?
How was your hair affected? Body hair, head hair, facial... Where the changes subtle or a lot? When and how gradual were they?
Your experience with bottom growth, if you're comfortable ofc. When/rate... Yeah same questions basically.
How/did your breasts change (obviously only if you're comfortable answering)? What changed visually? Sensorily? Did they change much or not much at all? When did you begin to see changes and how sudden were they?
How was your body odor affected? Was it significant?
Last and VERY IMPORTANTLY: for those who stopped taking t after some time, which changes STAYED and what WENT BACK to its pre-t appearance?
Thank you for anyone willing to help me out!! I really really appreciate it!!!
Start date: June 9, 2026 • 20.25mg/1.25 g per pump
I asked the doctor at Planned Parenthood for a low dose but not the *lowest* dose, so the effects so far have been very gradual. Here's what I've noticed:
• Morning hunger: This was the first thing I noticed, within a couple days of my first dose. I've been a skipping breakfast kinda person for a very long time, so this has been a quite welcome development. I also find myself more hungry for specifically protein than before.
• Reduced fibromyalgia pain: My muscles just generally feel better, as if they get more oxygen. It used to take very little physical activity for my legs to burn and feel like I was dragging myself around. Now I feel a bit more like a normal person when doing things like going on walks, or basic errands. I don't know if I would say the T has given me any extra energy, but just experiencing less muscular pain from normal activities is kind of like having more energy! A step in the right direction at least.
• I can now choose not to cry when upset. It's not that I can't cry, but I can make the choice now to physically stop myself from starting to cry, whereas that was very much an involuntary and unstoppable thing before.
• More mental interest in sex/kink: I haven't experienced the physical horniness that I've heard so much about T causing (super excited to, though!). But I've found myself being willing to look at porn for long periods of time to find something I'm looking for instead of getting bored almost instantly or never even trying in the first place. Now if I can just use this development to actually publish some fanfics, we'd be in business.
i genuinely feel guilty for not being able to handle the body hair growth on T. ive seen posts where people are like trans men you have to get past it, body hair is great, its normal, and like T is worth it. yes! it is! go body positivity and body neutrality!
but some people dont want to be growing visible body hair on literally every surface of their body and that someone is me
im not kidding. i have body hair on my back. my shoulders. my chest. my stomach. all the way up and down my arms and legs. my feet. my hands. my neck. my underarms. my inner thighs. my butt. like. it's fucking. everywhere. on my arms it even wraps around to the inside and i've always hated that. i love love bears but i am not one (unfortunately).
even a few weeks of low-dose T (0.25mg - 0.5mg in the syringe) causes the body hair to spread. not just grow darker. but spread. within fucking. weeks. i did get a few small positive changes, but nothing too different - my body would have done this by itself in time.
i just feel like im failing by not sucking it up and just going on T. as if i'm transphobic for it. like i just need to be more positive about my body and learn to love the body hair because im trans.
i dont wanna get rid of it entirely. im ok with some fuzz. but this? is too much. im grateful for my androgyny because it is who i am, but, i just want to express it differently.
wow wow wow! god this is incredible. i’ve been at around 25-30mg per week and i’m already noticing a few changes:
voice: i think i’m cracking a little more? and it might be a little lower? but it’s such a small change i could be imaging it. i’ve been resting my singing voice due to a very strenuous concert/competition season that ended two weeks ago, but i’m going to keep working it more over the holidays, so we’ll see!
physical changes: HOLY BOTTOM GROWTH. Christ. they weren’t kidding when they said it happens fast. pretty weird, but i don’t hate it!
there are a few more hairs on my upper lip and chin, barely noticeable if i’m not looking super close in the mirror in good lighting. but they’re there!
chronic pain is the same as usual, i’ve started working out regularly and eating more protein. right now i can’t tell if it’s made any change but i feel pretty good!
orientation stuff: GIRLS. FUCK. FUUUCK. i’ve identified as gay for a LONG time but yeah no i am slowly accepting that i like girls too. i’ve liked a few girls before T, never anything serious at all, but lately i’ve been more accepting of seeing a girl and thinking she’s pretty like THAT, not just aesthetically pretty. i believe T may have amplified this feeling but i’m not sure how much is attributable to hormones and how much is just, me accepting what was already there.
i’m still asexual, i don’t believe i feel sexual attraction towards people, however my libido has increased a bit. i didn’t really HAVE a libido before so this is unfamiliar and strange. i have been surprisingly neutral on this. i don’t really care! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
mental health: crazy stuff has been happening in my life that’s outside of my control, so on the whole i haven’t been too great. but INTERNALLY, i feel so much better. more comfortable with my body, more confident in myself, generally happier!!!
i am so happy i started T, SO happy i made the leap of faith. it was scary, and it continues to be scary, but every week it gets easier :) every week it feels a little less like fear and a little more like excitement
Uuuuuugh I like the pace of changes my current T dose is giving me but! I also want to ramp it up just to have a tdick, every other effect be damned.
I want it to swell. I want it to lengthen. I want to use my own slick to rub my fingers up and down it. I want to see it buldging and erect under my panties and sweatpants. I want to move a vibrator along its length. Tease my own fat buldge. So soft. So firm. Gods.
main changes: bottom growth, not huge but noticeable. belly hair and facial hair (need to shave at least once a week). HORNY HORNY HORNY. Lost about 15 pounds and feel more muscular/stronger.
changes i want soon: voice deepening. will take a while but hopefully soon.
