Fiction or fantasy, or maybe a bit of both

With the winter and the snow slowly approaching, we crave that warm and cozy, almost magic-like, time of the year. It's nostalgic and makes us remember our childhood winters. Being read to by your parents, that one special story, where you created a world in your mind, where everything came to life in your own bedroom. Well... Almost.

So what if that is possible now-a-days, would you offer your child that enchanting experience?

So what am I exactly writing about?

Perhaps you have heard about the QR codes, ones that will allow you to enter a site or image trough your phone or tablet while scanning the code on any given object. TexTales actually thought a little further than activating trough a code. It can now even be activated by an image itself. In this case the image is a set of bed sheets with different images on it. So when you scan one of the images on the bed sheets, you get different 3-D characters from a fairy tale.

With the different characters you can create a interactive bedtime story which allows toys to be a part of the story as well. It is an nice example of a well known term these days: augmented reality. In that way the virtual world is linked with the real world. So involve your kid's favorite stuffed animal, and create an even more vivid fantasy experience.

The augmented reality trend is one we will see more of in the future, it's still on the back burner, but it is developing in a high rate. it has future growth potential of the combination between reality and the virtual world. But more over it is the personalized experience that makes it so special for it's users. Children dream of having influence of their bedtime stories or they playtime, and now it is possible. Also we forget how important children are in the process of their parents buying products. "the mommy I want that one", will make children the number one consumers of TexTales. And last of all, it is authenticity in a brand new jacket, it's sort of still the same as we used to tell kids their bedtime stories, but it's easier, and more fun for both children and parents.
