The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of a jazz playlist in the background. Luca and Mc sat on opposite ends of the couch, both curled up with their phones. They could have easily reached out and touched each other, yet for some reason, an idea had sparked between them a little game to keep the evening interesting.
Luca’s phone buzzed, and he looked down to see a message from his partner.
[You]: I can’t stop staring at you. Did you know you look even cuter when you’re concentrating?
A soft smile spread across Luca’s lips, and he glanced up from his phone to catch Mc’s eye, only to find them grinning mischievously, clearly enjoying the game.
[My Sweet bonbon]: Oh yeah? Well, that makes two of us.
He looked up again and raised an eyebrow as if daring them to respond. His phone vibrated almost immediately.
[You]: Bet you won’t come over here and prove it.
Luca felt his cheeks warm, the familiar feeling of being challenged in the best possible way. He tilted his head, pretending to think.
[My Sweet bonbon]: Careful what you wish for…
Mc laughed softly, but they didn’t look up, their fingers flying over the screen.
[You]: Or what? You gonna come over here and… do something about it?
Luca couldn’t help but chuckle, enjoying the teasing and the way his heart skipped as they flirted from a few feet away. He bit his lip, composing his response slowly, carefully.
[My Sweet bonbon]: I might. Or I might just sit here and keep staring at you from across the room. Makes it harder to resist you, y’know.
A message came back quickly.
[You]: Well, maybe you don’t have to resist.
Luca felt his heart race at that. The boldness, the way his partner seemed to know exactly how to draw him in it was thrilling. He leaned forward, fingers tapping out his reply with a smirk.
[My Sweet bonbon]: Tell me something, then. How am I supposed to sit here and stay calm when you look at me like that?
A pause, then his phone vibrated again, this time with a message that made him blush.
[You]: Maybe I like seeing you flustered. Keeps things interesting.
Luca laughed under his breath, shaking his head, his cheeks pink. Finally, he set his phone down and gave Mc a long, steady look across the couch.
“Alright, fine,” he murmured, voice low. “You win.” And with that, he moved over, closing the space between them, leaving the game behind as he wrapped his arms around them and whispered, “Next time, you won’t get off so easily.”
They both laughed, but this time, there was no distance left between them
