Yay! I also have a long ramble about William's childhood and earlier life here!

since this is just a broad thing about william afton himself i'll try to keep it shorter otherwise i'll be writing all day ehehe this is not short.

William Afton opened up Fredbear's Family Diner with Henry in the summer of 1973! Their carnival beforehand had raised enough money for the Diner, so they went ahead and started their dream together! Shortly after the opening, two months after Elizabeth is born, William is springlocked. He's in the hospital for a long time, and during that stretch his wife Clara divorces him, for reasons explained in the other post linked above.

In the fall of 1983, two things happen. His son dies and the beloved carnival he and Henry have had for years burns down. William is driven to the edge and snaps. He kills a child outside of Fredbear's in December of '83. However.... there's something he doesn't realize until it's too late. Blinded by rage, William hadn't realize the kid he killed was Charlie. She was like a daughter to him too! He felt absolutely terrible. He panicked, left her there, went to a bar trying to forget it all, then came home. He doesn't tell anyone anything. Fredbear's is shut down.

Two years later, Elizabeth dies, and William kills again. He kills 5 children, the main MCI we know of today. At this point he's known of remnant and wants to see more of it. He's killed to see more of it, all to help his lost son- and now daughter too. He starts to experiment with Remnant, in 1987. More about that here. In 1987 another MCI occurs, in what we know FNAF2. In between 1985 and 1992, William does his little "kill 5 children and book it the fuck outta there" game to several of Henry's restaurants that he opens up, until the last MCI in 1992, as he gets springlocked a second time attempting another incident in 1993, this time trapping him in springtrap.

I've also been toying with the idea of giving him PDID, because haha projection onto fictional characters is fun. He doesn't realize he has alters until after he's trapped in Springtrap. I'll write about them more another day! The alters i have for him so far are here

hehehe I think the vengeful spirit is probably Cassidy or CC, leaning towards Cassidy. In my au, it'd have to be a mix of them both! If you've read the Fazbear Frights Epilogues there's a pair of two kids- Andrew and Jake, who both possess one robot. It would be similar to that, in the sense that Cassidy wants nothing but to kill William Afton (rightfully so. she can. and should.) and CC does not, only wanting to move on peacefully. Plus that was his dad and he's like. 12.

Cassidy is pissed off at William because. well. fuck he killed her i think that's enough reason to hate someone! aha. But when the MCI became ghosts and in the robots she kinda took charge of the group, she wanted to protect them! That fucking rabbit hurt her friends! Of course she's gonna be pissed. She's best friends with Charlie for this reason.

If you know the LORE. It's implied that in Toy Chica High School Years it goes through the ways William killed/lured the kids. And that Cassidy (the very last one, supposedly represented by Pigpatch) had the most brutal method of all the kids, with it describing hitting her over the head with a shovel and shoving her into the trunk of a car, then saying someone else tried to kidnap her and that she was "saved" by him. She would be rightfully mad, especially considering William may have even tried to blame someone else for it (Perhaps Henry?).

anyways Cassidy needs to kill that bastard bunny in hell as many times as she wants <3 while tiny Mike's spirit watches, and even starts to realize over time just how shit of a person his dad is..

QUESTIONS (open- yes im still answering the ones in my inbox and any new ones)

they were. to put it simply. not a typical family. they seemed to be at first. A man and his wife. Two young kids and an adopted older son. "Perfect." Ahahahaahaa. funny. William never wanted to marry clara in the first place. he was dating Henry, he was happy. slight spoilers for something im gonna write in a fic so im putting this under the cut. though it will probably be a long time before i write it so feel free to read hehehe :3 and warning for slight mentions about child abuse and Sexual abuse towards william in the 1st and 8th paragraphs (they have warnings beforehand; and obviously murder is mentioned throughout). im so sorry this is so long

(sexual assault/child abuse tw): William Afton killed his father when he was 19, in 1969. His father had abused him all his life, physically, mentally, and sexually. William stopped talking to him, his mother, and brother after getting in college, but, due to his parents still living in america, he ended up seeing them again. with henry. long story short, his mother invites the two over, william is pressured to go, and henry comes along because he knows something isn't right. At the house, william's father ushers him away for a "talk..." while henry is making awkward conversation with william's mother. william's father (named Whitman Afton) tries to assault him again, and william panics and smashes a TV over his head, killing him.

he runs away back to their dorm with Henry, going into a full blown panic attack. He doesn't know what to do, he just murdered somebody. He'll go to jail, his life will be ruined. He won't speak a single word to anyone, not even Henry. Any moment the cops could come knocking on his door...

however, william's mother reaches a conclusion. She doesn't want her precious son's life to be ruined. No, she's a good person, right? She offers a deal, William marries this nice, pretty woman, and there won't be any consequences. William accepts, not wanting anything worse to happen if he doesn't accept it. This is where he meets Clara Shelly.

Clara loves him immediately, having already heard about him from Mary (william's mother). William... does not like her. In the slightest. They get married in 1970 when william is 20 and clara is 19.

clara was very traditional, which meant, homophobic as fuck (bad for henry and william) and criticized a lot of things about william, such as, 1: his long hair, 2: him not being "manly" enough, 3: him not spending enough time with her (he was with henry too often), and a variety of other things. Another problem, Clara wanted children. So did William, but not with her. Hell no.

So, he devises a solution. Henry and William had been working on a... project (mimic, it's the mimic). So, William procrastinates the idea of children as long as he can, all while Henry is feeding the mimic data of "older brother" stereotypes and such. (can you see where this is going?), and eventually, William brings up the idea of adoption to Clara. Clara says yes, happy to have William bring an idea to her rather than her putting in all the work. (this, i feel bad for clara. did she deserve that? no! she thought william truly loved her. but she's also a homophobic prick so i dont feel all that bad).

So, William and Henry hire a fake guy/actor to play as a council for adoption and it's convincing enough for clara. They "adopt" the Very Normal 5 Year Old Boy in 1971 :) His name is Terrance, which is a reference to this old animation. He looks human enough, though he tends to drift toward the fox character William has recently made up, and wears it's mask a lot. (yes it's foxybro. yes im stubborn about mike being cc). Henry keeps remaking versions of him (and therefore the mimic) every time he needs to age/grow. Yes this is where he pulls the idea for robo-charlie. No, none of this shit should've happened.

(sexual assault tw): Clara however... still isn't happy. She still wants to have children with William. So, she forces him to. William hates it, and it makes him remember a whole bunch of trauma from his father that he'd rather not remember. He barely speaks for a month, even with Henry and Elise (henry's wife- who is actually a wonderful person), by his side. Neither of them know what happened until it's obvious that Clara's pregnant.

Mike is born later that year, on November 28th, and Elizabeth through the same reasons on September 13th, 1973. Charlie is born to Henry and Elise May 13th, 1971.

In 1973, about two months after Elizabeth is born, William gets springlocked. instead of explaining how it happened, im putting a tiny scene from a fic im writing :)

yay! so, He was in the hospital for about three weeks. During that time, he happened to be on anesthetics, and not in the right mind he happened to mention his relationship with Henry to Clara. and the fact that he never loved her in the first place.

(abuse/assault tw): she (rightfully so) was utterly pissed and betrayed. so william gets home, and about two days after, at night, Clara asks him to go get something out of the garage. Tired and confused william does, and Clara follows him, then smashes a lamp right over his head. william gets a concussion and is in the hospital for another two weeks. Clara is arrested for assault.

during this time, and much long after, henry and elise help william take care of his kids. They all end up co-parenting together, and there's typically a "sleepover" of some sorts at one of their houses. it was quite nice- Henry and Elise wanted a date? William would watch the kids, William and Henry wanted a date? Elise would watch. One of them went with another partner, the other two would watch the kids. All of the kids were basically siblings, and them their parents. So much so Mike and Elizabeth actually just call Henry 'dad' and Elise 'mom', especially after William, well. you know. kills children and gets springlocked (again).

they could've been happy. but NO. william had to kill children. hi. okay so. i will ramble more about each individual character if another ask is sent in (ex: just about elizabeth, or mike, terrance, william, etc), but since this was just "The Afton Family" i did this. How the afton family came to be, i guess. i would write more but holy fucking bingle what

Family Life: I don’t think her parent were all that good. Did they take care of her? Sure, but they were somewhat neglectful, and never really paid any attention to her. Somewhat of a parallel with The Fourth Closet’s Elizabeth. She was just on her own most of the time, doing…. Whatever. She did run away when she was around 16 I think, due to her parents being unfortunately very transphobic. She got a job at the VR company shortly afterwards, where she’d meet Glitchtrap and Tape Girl (who she may or may not have a crush on). She never talked to her parents after running away. Another thing about her family- her grandmother is Clara Shelly… William’s ex wife. No, Vanessa is not related to any Afton members, as her parents aren’t William and Clara’s kids. She is completely unaware about that connection. She does look similar to Clara though.

Vanny: I think she’s a funny little fursona- Vanessa made her when she was younger, and happened to be obsessed with the Fazbear Murder cases. She went “oh! Rabbit suit, that’s cool!!” And designed her own! Later on Glitchtrap (who is William in my AU because I am stubborn) helped her create the physical costume, guiding her on what to order, how to sew, etc. it does become kind of a situation later on where she is dressing up as Vanny when Glitchtrap is possessing her/influencing her. But Vanny the fursona still stays a silly little thing in her head before the possession. If any of that makes sense.

General Headcanons: TRANS WOMAN!!!!! I love her. I know she doesn’t in SB canon but it my AU she 100% keeps the rainbow hair. Hell yeah. Me and @the-smiley-blue-axolotl talked about this but she’s also a Scene Kid. Because yes. She loves rock music, as well as techno. She also listens to Cg5. Because she can. She also has autism and adhd. Similar to @fazgoo-connoiseur-1987 ‘s headcanon, she gets a special interest in anything Fazbears and talks to the Glitchtrap plush about it.
