tg:re ch118 spoilers beware;
ok, prepare for (juuzou) thoughts on ch118 that no one’s gonna read but im gonna ramble anyway
so, it’s been pointed out (very validly) that during “Sasaki’s” execution, Juuzou looked deeply distressed, lookie:
re chapter 118:
tg ch 137 (when owl attacks shinohara)
this closed off, wide-eyed expression is pretty similar, no?
so yes, imo, he’s obviously very distressed in this execution scene. But my thoughts are: is it actually because he thinks he’s seen Sasaki, one of very few he thinks of as friends, die?
I don’t think so. I think there’s a good chance that he’s aware it’s not actually Sasaki. After all; this is Juuzou, who recognised a very different Sasaki Haise as the same Kaneki Ken he stole from in Juuzou’s very first appearance in chapter 47:
and in re ch9:
Juuzou’s seen to have keen senses on many occasions. If he can recognise Sasaki as the same Kaneki, I’m sure he’d be able to tell an imposter from the actual Sasaki no matter how similar, unless Kaneki suddenly has an identical twin we don’t know about
I think Juuzou’s distress could be at simply seeing who is presumably an innocent person executed; and the subsequent realisation that the CCG is corrupted, and controlling him just like Big Madam was.
Again, as I’ve said before, I think Juuzou has been aware on some level for a while now that the CCG is not all its been made out to be or all it seems. But they were only suspicions (and, he’s limited in what he can do about it; the CCG is all he has since they saved him from Big Madam and raised him to be a CCG agent. He has nothing outside of them). And now, if he is aware that that’s not the real Sasaki, it’s confirmed all his suspicions, and revealed just how corrupt the CCG is, possibly even further than he expected.
so if my theorising is right... Juuzou, as seen before, might be aware of more than we the readers, or the other characters give him credit for. It’s just a question of what he might do with that information now, given his situation and relationship with the CCG and Sasaki/Kaneki.. hmm
juuzou’s whole life has been following orders first from big madam now from the ccg and while he’s certainly aware of what the ccg is *really* like to some point and is having doubts he’s still following them because he doesn’t really have much choice or anywhere else to go because he’s been in their system his whole life andi just want him to be free and happy and able to do what he wants whether that’s continuing with the ccg or joining goat or travelling the world learning to bake in a parisian patisserie and then coming home and opening his own sweet treats bakery
Won't people give Arima a break tbh
A lot of people lost their sympathy to Arima that was slowly built in recent few chapters because this Arima-Eto interaction in just a couple of pages.
The newest chapter doesn’t explicitly validate that Arima and Eto worked together behind everyone’s back. It was smol Arima basically agreeing to angry smol Eto’s ideal because hell he’s been treated like V/Washuu/CCG’s lapdog for years. They shared the same view that the world is messed up and that’s it, they pursue the same thing despite being on different sides. They’re looking for a symbol or entity to break down their world and it’s not shown whether they kept in contact for years or not.
The fact that Arima thought the world’s fucked up and implicitly had been searching for someone and time to destroy it doesn’t negate the fact that he had suffered all his life. I am so done and sick with Arima-hating individuals who gave him a break one time at his death and managed to drag him back from the grave bc they have every excuse to hate him. Let the boy rest.
He’s probably the happiest and only in forever now that he’s dead and it makes me sad that he’s always been seen as some villainy, heinous, backstabbing, abusive bitch.
(And Eto my love please u must live)
My greatest achievement for today:
After a whole year of nagging o final,y got my mom to start reading Tokyo Ghoul!
Now I need to make sure she actually finished it.
Ya'know I never talked about this but, I've always wondered how come Takizawa didn't get some type of promotion after the Anteiku Raid was all said and done? Like I understand he didn't really do much in the raid but, damn I still thought he was well deserving of a promotion if not a double promotion like Amon :v.. Oh lord now I sound like Urie taking about promotions D: lol!!
My God Ishida has really been laying it on us the past couple of weeks. The revelations, the bae Eto has had ample panel time to keep me content for quite awhile, and last but not least the extreme feels in these upcoming chapters thats gonna scar me D: …
Discord & Animosity among the masses incoming in TG:re.(?)
I just thought about it, but I wonder how people will react when Takatskui Sen’s last work drops and hits the shelves? That’ll cause a huge uproar and so much discord within the masses of Tokyo, just imagine everyone suspecting each person that goes in and out of a bookstore grabbing Takatsuki’s last work of being a ghoul.
