Albert is a Peridot while Enoch is a Lapis Lazuli. Technically this means that Enoch would be higher up in the hierarchy, but the whole ‘disgraced scientist’ thing can translate into him being treated similarly to Albert
Yes, the fact that Albert has limb enhancers means that he’s incredibly short
Enoch’s gem is cracked, which caused him to lose the ability to form his left arm. Instead of a robot arm, he has a water one. I imagine he can turn it into ice if he so wants. He also can still summon water wings, but he can’t have both the wings and his arm at the same time
Enoch also has the same sort of ‘psychological scars’ that Pink Pearl/Volleyball had in the show. This applies to his hair too

The year is ambigious, but it is the 21st century
After the conviction and removal of Lord Stronghart as Lord Chief Justice, the British law system finds itself in a bit of disarray as roles are being replaced. In midst of all the chaos, young detective Gina Lestrade suggests a wild idea; a rehabilitation program for certain criminals.
At first the idea gets turned down for arguably obvious reasons. After a ton of pleading, Gina argues that ‘if someone who was super distrustful like me can have a change of heart and do good, who’s to say there aren’t others like me?’
Finally an arrangement is made. Four prisoners with any association/knowledge of the Stronghart situation are selected for what becomes a more highly secure version of House Arrest. They are allowed a somewhat normal restart at life. Well, as normal as they can, seeing as they are under constant surveillance with barely any privacy. Later more people get taken up into the HARP (House Arrest Rehabilitation Program).
The four ex-prisoners have doubts at first, both about HARP as a whole and each other. They get assigned to a nice, somewhat isolated house to live in together, and with some caveats are rules, are able to work somewhat normal jobs.
Ok now onto the main characters
27 years old
5’7 (170.18 cm)
Genderfluid, pansexual, he/she/they
Ex-communication officer for the government, before being caught for the murder of Magnus McGilded and Pop Windibank. Was originally on death row before being swooped up in the HARP. Has trouble understanding why Gina was willing to let him have a second chance, considering how she was framed for his crime originally.
Has the least amount of freedom out of the main four, and isn’t even really allowed to be that far from the house (can’t even cross the street). Ashley spends most of her time in the house, and therefore finds herself as the ‘housemaid.’ They keep the place tidy (except for the bedrooms. They usually don’t bother), and silently keeps an eye on everyone’s schedules and patterns. Although he is mostly unemployed, he is the co-owner of a small business started by Shamspeare. Due to her old job in communications, she has knowledge in coding and hacking (which she totally doesn’t use nefariously), so she mostly runs the website.
Has a faulty knee from a bad injury he had as a child that he never fully healed from, so he’s a cane user. He can walk and do most physical activities fine without his cane, but will progressively become more pained overtime. Also has a scar from that time he got shot lol
Bit of a germaphobe (hence the gloves)
While still somewhat snobbish, Ashley is much more quiet and reserved. This ‘second chance’ feels quite hollow to them, and really they’re quite miserable. She devotes most of her time to caring about the wellbeing of the house and others, rather than herself (less out of selflessness and more out of boredom). But hey, there’s pleasure in the little things.
Has a very vintage style, and dresses like they’re living somewhere between the Victorian era and the 60s (aka pretty on par to how they looked in canon). Definitely the most stylish and clean looking.

Bisexual, he/him
Ex-journalist and photographer for one of the biggest agencies in Tokyo, before being caught for killing ‘Jezaille Brett.’ Admittedly, due to Brett’s true identity and nature being revealed, Raiten gets a bit of a pardon for his actions (though he is accused of stalking Soseki and attempting to leak government info, on top of murdering Brett). Was flown from Japan to Britain in order to make HARP work, seeing as he was being held in prison in his home land.
Due to the fact Raiten was also technically on death row, he also does not have that many freedoms, but does have more leeway than Ashley. He’s the main cook of the household (on occasion Ashley cooks. Rarely will Enoch cook, and Shamspeare shouldn’t be allowed in the kitchen). He’s also allowed to go to a nearby grocery store to shop. Outside of that, he works from home as an editor for a small local newspaper. In his free time he mostly just does whatever and plays video games, occasionally making YouTube videos and livestreams (this later takes a weird turn for him)
His English isn’t perfect, and there is an obvious language barrier between him and the others (it doesn’t help that they all mispronounce his name at first).
Raiten is actually taking his living arrangements pretty well. Never mind that he misses his home and family and old life and old job- at least he’s not sitting in jail!
Pretty much dresses in the exact same way he did in canon: a mix between professional and casual. Also a bit more scruffy/unshaven
(Oh I’ve got a lot to say about Shamspeare, so I’m gonna condense it as much as possible)

Bisexual, prefers he/him but won’t react if you use other pronouns
Ex-Theater and literature (substitute) teacher at Thorndyke Academy of Fine Arts, before being arrested for the manslaughter of his neighbor, Duncan Ross (who also happened to be a student). The students and staff already considered him weird, and his reputation tanked once he was arrested. Desperate, he immediately agreed to the conditions of HARP, just to get out of jail.
Since his charges are less extreme than the others, William gets the most freedom and lives the closest to his old life. He’s reassigned to work as a substitute teacher at a dingy elementary school, and is assigned to the ‘problem kids’ (they bully him constantly and the job is totally great for his mental health). In his free time, he runs a small business with Ashley, where he styles wigs and on occasion costumes. He mostly sells them to cosplayers and promotes himself on TikTok (ignore the fact he’s been almost cancelled several times)
Has lazy eye issues with his right eye, specifically hypertropia. This happens whenever his emotions get more cloudy, usually either through stress or if he’s spacing out. Because of this, he’s developed a habit of closing his right eye in some situations.
Is really weird about eating, mostly due to the fact that he’s so used to eating the bare minimum. Most of the time he skips meals, or has to be forced to sit down and eat something. Then sometimes he is the total opposite, and is incredibly hungry even after eating a lot.
William is pretty much his usual self, and is totally (not) doing completely mentally fine! It’s not like he’s that affected by everything he’s been through. It’s not like he spends an odd amount of time thinking about Selden, Soseki, Olive, etc. And he absolutely doesn’t have this growing sense of guilt and anxiety as if some sort of higher power is constantly watching over him (coughs in terrible foreshadowing)
Even in his new environment, William consistently hides his ‘true’ identity. His real last name is Petenshy. The name ‘Shamspeare’ was more of an insulting nickname someone gave him once that he adopted (and yes, he still does the whole ‘me’s a seraph’ bit). His real hair is also short, brown, and in terrible condition. He conceals this by wearing a variety of blonde wigs in various styles, which he switches out depending on his mood.
In terms of general aesthetics: the 60s-80s called and they want this man back. While he still has his ‘almost constantly speaks in Shakespearean English’ bit, he is also very hippie coded. Very much a dramatic arts guy, and while he branches out his enjoyment to other bits of literature and theater, Shakespeare is forever his guilty pleasure.
(I’ve also got a lot to say on Enoch, but I’ll condense as much of it as possible)

Gender nonconforming, demiromantic and demisexual, he/they
Ex-engineer and illusionist who was hired by entrepreneur Odie Asman for an ambitious science project, before being arrested for being the accomplice to the murder of Asman. Enoch was already well known for his scams and odd backstory, both in the field of science and stage magic. Was originally reluctant to be forced to live with three strangers while under surveillance, and seems to be the most restless with HARP, even though they’re allowed to go outside.
HARP specifically went out of its way to find a job for Enoch, fearing that he’ll invent more crazy shit if left to his own devices. Somehow, they made the wonderful decision to make them work as a cashier for a movie theater (aka: I wanted them to work a retail job because it’s a funny mental image). He is miserable, he hates the job, he hates his coworkers, and he hates the costumers most of all. As a magician, Enoch is a master of slight-of-hand, and uses it to their advantage to get away with stuff. When he’s not at work, he’s cooped up in his bedroom making weird, oddly useful gadgets. They seem particularly interested in the various security and tracking systems HARP is using to monitor them. (Later on, he gets reintroduced to a certain someone, but I’ll save that for a later post)
The whole ‘saw the corpse of a serial killer come back to life briefly and got traumatized’ thing is still part of his backstory. Enoch has Canities Subita (Marie Antoinette Syndrome). Also after the incident, they stopped caring about their hair in general.
Sometime between the cemetery incident and his arrest (which keep in mind was over ten years), Enoch was in an accident that badly mangled his left arm, and made him partially blind in his right eye. Most of their forearm had to be amputated, and their mechanical arm is actually a super high-tech prosthetic they made themselves. Sometimes as a way to freak people out, he’ll randomly detach the prosthetic and put it on the table (this scared the shit out of the others the first time). They also made their own monocle, which has its own high tech abilities.
Overall, Enoch’s mental health is a bit of a disaster. He’s left stewing in his increasingly growing rage and bitterness. They’re also still showing some signs that they haven’t 100% gotten over past trauma and emotions. He’ll probably be fine.
Enoch is more or less his usual self, if maybe a little bitter. The robot mannerisms are still prominent, but he’s also oddly more cat-like. Don’t be surprised if you walk into their room and find them crawling around on the floor for some reason (he somehow taught himself quadrobics). They’re not really interested in interacting with any of their roommates, but when they do it’s mostly in the form of awkwardly looming over them while off to the side, or fixing some broken appliance in the house.
Enoch is also pretty much the same aesthetically. He drifts between hyper steampunk-goth and more casual clothing (the man likes his turtlenecks). Regardless they don’t wear much color outside of the occasional gold, silver, and bronze.
Anyways yeah that’s the basics. I’ll probably put them into situations for sillies. Feel free to ask stuff (maybe I’ll make an ask blog 🤷)
