With the chapter 131 of :Re coming out....if a ghoul somehow got past the horrid psychological aftereffects that affect them after eating other ghouls kagune, how would this affect a ghoul's lifespan? Can Ghouls stop their aging or vastly postpone their age by taking in a vast amount of rc cells, hence lengthening their telomeres? And if so, could this reverse one's appearance and biology to look younger? Can Ghouls become immortal? Can this help humans become immortal?

I think the issue of immortality is more complex than just solving the problem of telomere shortening (at least from a biological point of view). In the tgverse however, this reveal comes at a critical time, that of unravelling the mystery of the 24th ward underground and the ancient OEK. It looks like Ishida-sensei is trying to tell us that cannibalism is indeed capable of prolonging one’s life span (for ghouls and hybrids). Consider Tsuneyoshi Washuu for example. This is how far I think this can go. This is just my biased scientific opinion though.

Some of my mutuals were discussing mythology and that the Washuus were looking for some sort of Elixir. I think it’s discussed in this meta [x] (sorry Link and Charade I still havent had the time to read this). I won’t be surprised if immortality becomes a topic in future chapters of tgre… however, again, from a scientific point of view, this is not just a switch and ta dah.
