Building

The whole venue was decked out with fine things. The glass wear and windows were spotless and reflective as the shined floors, the tables and other furniture looked designer and custom, and each staff member was clean and crisp, all adding to the atmosphere of luxury and exclusivity. When Clydiscope and Zaria stepped in Jacie was immediately at their side.

Jacie was the host of the event, thrown as an anniversary party for her companies tenth year of international expansion. She was wearing a full three piece suit, all black and white save for her green tie, and her blonde bob was slightly curled. She was normally quite stoic, but the second she spotted Clydiscope her eyes lit up behind her glasses, and her face split into a huge smile. She almost knocked the couple over when she pulled them both into a hug.

“Clyde! I was so worried you wouldn’t make it! It’s so good to see the both of you!” She let them out of her hug and looked at their outfits, seeing both their matching styles and their matching accessories. “Oh my gosh! When did you two get engaged?”

“It was only a few weeks ago.” Zaria replied while Clydiscope went and fiddled with her ring happily. “We kept the announcement pretty minimal, just family. but we figured people would catch on in a month or so when we send out invitations.”

“I am so happy for you too! You know, I told Clyde that you were going to be the one the second she showed me a date photo. You just look at her with so much love, I knew you would put a ring on her.” Zaria blushed at the comment, knowing just how true it was, and almost remembering what photo she was talking about. It was from one of their first dates, the background is blurred to hell and back, but the look on Zaria’s face is so lost and happy Clyde couldn’t help but show it off. “I assume you two will be sending me an invitation then? You know I can help with wedding planning. Are you thinking a destination wedding? I can get you a whole hotel if-“

“No no, Jacie, as much as we appreciate the offer, no. We we’re thinking something a little smaller, closer to home.” Clydiscope cut off her ramblings, “Yes, you will be invited, of course. But don’t expect a huge crowd or venue. Not like your own here.”

“Oh this, you should have seen my initial plans. I was hoping to get a second location for the dinner, away from the dance space and relaxing areas but Quincy would hear none of it. And you know how that girl gets with-“

Clydiscope and Zaria followed Jacie into the main hall of the building, seeing the crowds of mingling people waving and drinking. The music was almost null under all the talking, and the lights seemed dull with all the people standing in front of their sources.
