Okay so remember when I mentioned Greta and Thad being possible love interests back in my old Match and Thad possible complicated history...Yeah so I'm here to finally elaborate on it LET ME COOK
So while I love match and Thad, and Deborah and Thad. I do believe those will never happen or last realistically, first Thad as a villain was hella unlikable in universe let's remind ourselves that, Carol knew something was up IMMEDIATELY after thad took barts place, he's likable to us, To everyone else in the universe in canon, yeah everyone wants to punt him
That's honestly why I feel like relationship with sungirl wouldn't last, sure they would try to date but eventually it wouldn't work out, Thad just isn't the right fit for her and he knows it, they both probably knew it. It was really more of trying to fill that hole of love Thad wanted filled, only for it to feel empty Plus the whole teen pregnancy arc that was planned with sungirl's and thad's kid is horrible and we need it PREVENTED AT ALL COST THAT RELATIONSHIP HAS GOT TO GO, so yeah by the time Thad returns they are exes, DEFINITELY FRIENDS but exes, if you want to hear about match and thad but the tldr of it for me it is like Albert and Todd situation where the affection is one sided but they decide to stay friends and move on
NOW ONTO GRETA, BEST GIRL IN ALL OF DC! NO CONTEST!..first things first I want to say I read YJ once and am currently rereading it thanks to the Omnibus edition and DC infinite to read the rest so my knowledge is rusty but here we go ahem, First things first one aspect of Greta that some people forget is that...she never really had a choice to become a hero or not or even the fact she's just not built for that life, she died and ended up a ghost and had no where else to go other than Bart, Tim and Conner which later grew to include Anita, cissie and Cassie. Two of which retired later one, Cissie retiring because she couldn't handle the stress of that life and Anita retiring to raise kids
But the fact is that Greta isn't too...she was just a regular girl with a psychopathic adopted brother which would later rip her family apart with her mother being the only one we know is left by the end of the series, there's also the fact she could DO NOTHING while stuck as a ghost, she couldn't eat, she could barely sleep and anything else a regular teenage girl could do
Plus there's also the fact she can sense people die so that definitely wasn't fun at all, which makes her losing her powers so cathartic cause Darkseid by misjudging Greta and thinking she was like the other members, indirectly gave her that freedom she longed for, a chance at a normal life. Sure her family is ripped apart but she got her name back, she got her freedom of a regular life back and Cassie and cissie helped with that
And maybe If we were to see her again we would see her living a regular life, maybe reconnected with her mom slowly rebuilding from the things they both lost, sure Greta is a goofball at times but she really is a character that starts off tragic stays in a tragic state but gets a happy hopeful ending by the end of the story
Also there's her obsession with Tim when she was a ghost goes to really show just how bad her mental state and how she interpreted things like romance way different from everyone else, Completely being dependent on Tim and wanting his attention, sure eventually they moved past it but it really showed that in her ghost state it was affecting her negatively
So why am I now mentioning this about a post on Greta and Thad possibly being love interests for one another...well it's simple
Thad if he ever comes back needs someone like Bart. Energetic, happy and a goofball but also needs someone who can understand his pain of not knowing where to belong and wanting a normal life after everything that's happened in his life plus someone to stop him from putting everyone's life over him also I think greta's goofy exterior would help him keep that superiority complex under control
And Greta needs someone to keep her grounded, to keep her logical, to keep her calm after everyone's moved on but Thad is always there to listen, to push her to become better even if he has problems to do so himself, they would push each other to become better people and get to that goal of a normal life and to reconnect with family that you thought you lost
Sure they lost family, Greta has lost her father and Brother, and Thad has lost and will never be able to meet Don and meloni but he can still meet who's left, Greta can still meet with her mother
And it would show too on how Greta perceives Romantic relationships, instead of being entirely dependent on thad's love and attention, she is able to be separated from him for periods of time but still know they love each other (also she would definitely be the girl to send "I miss you" texts and I'm just imagining Thad Having a .exe shutdown), sure Thad is a trying hero but he's still there for her, they both are
And nothing could break it, they both grew and still are growing but they will share and show each other's growth with each other, sure Thad isn't the most handsome or put together (come on I imagine the guy wearing Hawaiian shirts) but Greta doesn't want that, she loves chaos like that..but also simplicity it could come with
ALSO IT WOULD BE HILARIOUS JUST TO IMAGINE THE ENTIRETY OF THE CORE FOUR MOVING THAD UP IN THE "Incase of emergency: beat him up" chart! I would imagine they are overprotective of Greta years later, especially Bart and Cassie
