So I’ve dedicated myself to writing out backstory drabbles for everybody and OF COURSE Thaine and Ziel are over here like ....

“Don’t get too excited. That stunt just earned you more time with me.”

“That hardly seems like a punishment.”

Thaine smirked, “I can make it one, if you’d like.”

Writing out the time these two met and grew close also made me realize that ever since things went, uh, downhill, Ziel NEVER teases or jokes anymore. By the time we officially meet Ziel, he’s still a soft sweetie, but he is just... not the same person. RIP my heart.

My OC Take Over: Thaine’s Day

A bit out my sexy Sin Eater:

Thaine Reid Marks is a cop at the Newborn City precinct and is familiar with demons, he is one. After seeing his partner Lucas thrown into the world of demons, he decided to "come out of the pit" so to speak. He reveals himself as a Sin Eater. He is able to sense the sin and evils of others, he is the best interrogator because of his talents. He can either choose to save a person who is repentant by taking on their sins or kill a person who is truly evil and suffocate them with the weight of their sins. Thaine can sense Roger's true form because can feel the hidden evil, but what it is or what he is, Thaine can't tell. After a long time of absorbing sins, since demons age more slowly, he is tired and the weight of the sins he has absorbed is starting to get to him. He feels he is losing himself to the sins of others.

Going with Thaine, aka Thora (spy turned leader of a team of super soldiers turned Professor X) and Daine (mercenary turned member of Thora's team turned Magneto) from Khyber Shards.

Gives nose/forehead kisses

I see Daine as the one to be more physically affectionate in general

Gets jealous the most

Both, but Thora I can really see letting it fester as, "I didn't develop feelings until after I messed things up between us, so he deserves to be happy but also why????" Meanwhile, Daine's jealousy is more of, "Huh? That's her type?" (I headcanon Thora as demiaroace and Daine as allo.)

Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive

Neither because cars aren't a thing in their world

Thora, because Daine is more likely to go out drinking. I can see Thora choosing not to drink much (if at all) while at a bar since she's paranoid enough that she won't enter a room first.

Takes care of on sick days

*glances at the number of "Daine takes care of a heavily injured Thora" fics I have*

Daine. Also, I see him more likely to willingly take a day off when he's sick, while Thora will try to push through the paperwork until someone guilts her into taking a sick day lest she collapses in front of the kids.

Drags the other person out into the water on beach day

Daine lives in a place where you can more-or-less safely go in the water. Meanwhile, man-eating fish people live in the water near where Thora lives.

Gives unprompted massages

Daine. I think Thora's probably good at giving a massage, but once again being physically affectionate doesn't come naturally to her.

Drives/rides shotgun

If we use the historical definition of riding shotgun, then for the past three years it's been Daine. Thora doesn't have good depth perception on account of one eye being burnt.

If we use the modern definition, they're bickering over the steering wheel.

Brings the other lunch at work

Daine, because Thora is a school headmistress. Meanwhile, his work either is leading an organization where Thora is no longer welcome, or he's on a mission.

Has the better parental relationship

They were both disowned by their families, so neither.

Tries to start role-playing in bed

They're D&D NPC's, so my first thought was "ok who gets to remain the DM".

I could see Thora being the first to think of it, since I headcanon her adult love life having been almost entirely honeypot missions. Whether or not she is the one who brings it up depends on how much guilt she's feeling.

Embarrassingly drunk dancer

Daine would be busting the embarrassing dance moves that haven't been cool since he was in his twenties and late teens. He's roughly 40 in canon.

Thora losing her inhibitions (once they moved from rivals-on-the-verge-of-becoming-enemies to lovers) just means she'll get really cuddly and try to slow dance to a song that's too fast for slow dancing.

Still cries watching Titanic

Neither of them will forget, but Thora plans things further in advance

Brings up having kids

Daine will bring up having kids, and the DM says that he'd have been willing to act as a dad to the main characters had they chosen to follow him, but in canon he's said that any kids he takes in he tries to rehome ASAP.

Thora's bad at the emotional aspects of being a mother figure, but she practically adopted seven people in canon (four young adults, three children). She had to tell the young adults that she wasn't going to be their mom, but even the DM says that she was a reluctant maternal figure despite her best efforts.
