Titles I’d like to ask for are: Poisoned Rose, Midnight Strike, and King of Cards!
Somebody at Ohtori is back at it again with the usual bullshit No, well, if we want to keep it Utena-themed, I’d probably go with a story set shortly after Anthy’s departure. As the law of the stage created around the Rose Bride start to change in response to her absence, a shadow from the past manages to manifest itself once again in the campus: Mikage has defied death once more, and this time, rather than the Rose Bride, it is the fallen prince the one he is after.Basically the “big bad” from the second arc comes back from the dead to mess up with the series big bad hopefully leading to mutual annihilation.
The title could also work for a story set in the world of fashion. As the next big runaway show is coming up, a series of incidents and unfortunate events start to occur. Could the mastermind behind such misfortunes be hiding among the models and the production staff? While I envision the narration to be unassuming and direct, with only some occasional and indulgent purple passages, the visual compartment would be more detailed and extravagant, with an aesthetic mainly based on ‘70s and ‘80s shoujo manga and fashion.
For this, I’ll probably go with one of the most classical dynamics in stories dealing with a conflict between two factions: a selected squad must infiltrate and destroy the enemy base (bonus point if they also need to rescue a comrade/retrieve some kind of weapon/artifact/special thing). The fic would probably follow the protagonist in their thoughts before the start of the operation, evaluating their risk, finding the resolve to proceed, hoping for the best and mentally prepare for the worst. Then, a bell rings. It’s a new day, it is time to attack. As the main focus of the fic lies in the protagonist’s line of thought, the narration itself would often include free indirect speech and inner monologues, with an occasional reminder of the time to create a crescendo of tension as midnight comes closer. The main visual will feature a night-inspired palette of blues and other dark colors, with a sketchy and unrefined art style.
Hum, maybe something more light-hearted to conclude?
Lately, life has been pretty rough with Keiichiro Asaka, head of the VS Academy discipline committee and also known as “the fuming boy-cop”: aside from the usual work, it seems like a group of students going by the name of “Gangler” is slowly taking control of the whole institute by bulling other students and controlling an actual gambling den inside the school.
To make things worse, the “Red King”, a student with a rather eccentric uniform and a mask to conceal his face, appears during lunchtime to publicly challenge one of the Gangler to a card game! Despite the discipline committee’s attempt to stop the match, and the Gangler’s cheating devices, the Red King manages to win! Together with “Blue Jack” and ”Yellow Queen”, the three masked student swear to wipe the Gangler out of the school, before disappearing in a flash as the bell rings.
With a third faction entering the stage of this high school war, Keichiro has to face yet another new challenge: getting along with his new roommate, the charming, yet somehow irritating Kairi Yano, recently transferred from another school!
A LupPato School!AU, with a specific focus on bizarre card game and other unusual form of games in a mix that combines strategic action to all the tropes and dynamics you should expect from an high school setting!
