Day 24: Death
As it turns out, when the goddess of death goes on vacation, the loss of life follows in her wake. As Thanara explored various dimensions, her magic concealed her from living mortals, but the essence of death was not so easily obscured.
First was the realm known as Earth, in the metropolis of ‘New York.’ While she enjoyed a delicious asparagus pizza, she failed to notice the other grain product that was actively disintegrating and immortalizing a rat.
Then she spent a week of her holiday in that one delightful confectionery land, ‘Calorum,’ where she may have partied a bit too hard with some ancient sacred beasts: that first hangover in the church should’ve taught her, but she just had to do it all over again in that quaint shop in the castle town.
And then there was that fantastical place with all of the exotic wildlife: the nocturnal zebra, the ember glider, and of course that giant mechanical crow. She shouldn’t have gotten quite so close to that last one, though: in a moment of fear, she yanked her finger away from the machine’s snapping beak, incidentally bringing an old soul with her.
