There's a kind of love, that first love, that's always going to be a little different than the ones that are going to happen later. It's not that they're better or that they're going to be the best but there is a heart wrenching level of importance there. They're the foundation blocks of who we all are. They're the grit and the grain and the texture from what used to be such an innocence. They're the words of music that you'll finally understand and they're the poetry. . . My god. . . They're the fucking poetry to your life. They're what made you link pain with beauty and what made you understand emotions for more than what they used to be. They're what turned your pink heart, red. & I know, I fucking know that it feels like you'll never find love like that again - the innocent, the young, and the free. & honestly, you're right. You won't, because no love ever copies itself twice and it's so hard to keep moving and to keep yourself from breaking your heart into pieces the moment you paste it back together because how boring completeness can feel as opposed to always carrying around you're broken pieces with their broken promises mixed in. At least that means you're feeling something? Right? At least it means you're not forgetting them. But there is a moment, eventually, when you will get so fucking tired of breaking your own heart for the nostalgia and memory of it all. There's going to be a moment when you say, "This isn't what I want to feel anymore", and you're going to take everything that love taught you, and you're going to love somebody else and you're going to be so happy. You're always going to care for them and there's always going to be that scar that tingles from time to time and that's okay. That's the beauty of it all.
