happy 1st day of thargelia! i learned today that there probably is such a thing as "too many flowers" lol. but i associate dogwoods with artemis, so they felt very fitting. i prayed and poured libations and gave offerings to her as well as demeter chloê. her brother will receive honors tomorrow, of course.

This is really late but Thargelia was really peaceful for me. Apollon was the first deity I worshipped, and I see him as like, an uncle to me in a way. He’s always around, I can feel his presence, and it’s a calming one. He’s the relaxing sunbathing after spending all your energy playing and swimming in the ocean. Poseidon challenges me to do my best and keep going, and Apollon offers me a day of rest every so often. They are both massive parts of my life, even if I don’t speak about him on this blog much

Anyway. I smelled the daffodils and napped in my hammock in the afternoon sun while my kid was at after-school care (they literally beg me to go, so don’t come at me lol). A cicada landed on my leg too, and I think that was a little sign that Apollon was with me

thargelia has just been!! though it was a two day celebration, i very much procrastinated and only lit a stick of incense as an offering tonight. i still hope apollon, artemis, and leto enjoyed the whole frankincense stick i burnt as an offering to them. about halfway through it, i became motivated to start writing that fic ive been wanting to, and im still writing lol! i hope im more prepared for the next celebration, but on a similar note id love to hear how everyone else celebrated :)

ps, it's okay to celebrate late!!! the attic calendar conversion to our calendar makes it a little confusing to celebrate perfectly on time anyway, and better late than never, right?? :3
