₊ ⊹ hello and welcome to my blog! my name is katiana, kat for short. i'm a minor who uses any pronouns but her! i have a lot of interests, such as httyd, b99, and music! i love the cure and mitski, and i consider myself goth despite not dressing it at all lol!

₊ ⊹ i naturally still have a lot to learn about myself, the paths i pursue and the paths i do not pursue!

₊ ⊹ i'm devoted to aphrodite, and this blog is for her! i worship other deities, such as artemis, selene, apollon, dionysus and athena! im not an educator, i'm here to give ideas that i use in my own practice, very rarely academic stuff <3

₊ ⊹ i've been practising since last october (october 2024) and i prefer not to use labels on myself, so i prefer not to call myself a hellenic polytheist/pagan (although i still use the tags for it), especially now that i'm becoming interested in another pantheon (the irish pantheon specifically!)

₊ ⊹ i hope this blog may prove useful to some people!! i prefer to post things im sure im educated about, but still do not take my word as absolutely infallible truth :p

₊ ⊹ i might shitpost, or go inactive for periods of time because i don't get ideas of what to post often.

Happy first of Pride Month! I’m a little sad as my country doesn’t really have Pride festivals or parades in June (we have them primarily in February) but I still like to get in the spirit of Pride in June as well :)

I know so many people feel cut off from the natural world because it feels inaccessible — because of illness, disability, money, transportation, location, fear, exhaustion, or just life being life.

But I promise you, nature is not as far away from you as it may feel.

I’ve felt that too. Some days I desperately want to go outside, to be surrounded by trees and dirt and wind, but I’m limited by my own circumstances. So I’ve had to learn how to find the natural world in smaller, softer ways.

Sometimes I sit on my porch, lie on a blanket, and just stare at the sky. I thank it for being there. I watch the clouds move. I let the air touch me.

Sometimes I look out my window and see birds, and immediately think of Hera.

Some days I’m too sick to get out of bed, so I get a glass of water, swirl it around, and listen to it. And yes, maybe it sounds silly, but I hear the ocean in it. That water still belongs to the natural world. It still came from somewhere ancient.

If you can’t go to the woods, you can watch a nature documentary and thank Pan or Artemis or any deity you associate with the wild.

If you can’t walk barefoot in the grass, you can touch a houseplant.

If you can’t sit under the moon, you can look at a photo of her.

If all you can do today is breathe, then breathe with the earth. That counts too.

Nature is not only found in forests, mountains, rivers, and beautiful places far away from you.

It is in your tap water. It is in the birds outside your window. It is in the weeds growing through concrete. It is in the sky above your home. It is in your own body, your breath, your hunger, your tiredness, your heartbeat.

Please don’t feel discouraged if your connection looks small right now.

Small is still sacred.

You are not separate from the natural world. You are part of it. 🌿

As a Greek, in response to the current controversy about Matt Damon being cast as Odysseus, I'd just like to share that one of the moments that changed my brain chemistry as a kid was reading a novelized version of the Odyssey and coming across the following description of Odysseus when Circe sees him for the first time and thinks he's hot: "his hair curled like a clematis and his eyes were very brown".

thargelia has just been!! though it was a two day celebration, i very much procrastinated and only lit a stick of incense as an offering tonight. i still hope apollon, artemis, and leto enjoyed the whole frankincense stick i burnt as an offering to them. about halfway through it, i became motivated to start writing that fic ive been wanting to, and im still writing lol! i hope im more prepared for the next celebration, but on a similar note id love to hear how everyone else celebrated :)

ps, it's okay to celebrate late!!! the attic calendar conversion to our calendar makes it a little confusing to celebrate perfectly on time anyway, and better late than never, right?? :3

I don’t know if there’s anything I like more than someone showing me something and saying “I thought you’d like this” or “This made me think of you”. It genuinely makes me smile so much. Usually it’s my kid giving me a flower or a pretty rock or something, and I really love that, but now there are folks here doing the same! I absolutely love when I see that someone’s tagged me in a post that reminded them of me. I feel so seen, and honestly, loved

I wish I came across posts that remind me of my mutuals too, but my entire feed is full of cats…

i love being thought of, and i also love being the one to see things that remind me of others!! it's always a little pick-me-up to think of my friends and the people i happily surround myself with. i sometimes feel aphrodite's spirit inside me in these moments of platonic love :)
