A Quick Afterthought:

I know Tharn only wants what’s best for Type, but him continuously saying “I can take care of you” is not what he should be saying to Type. Type clearly doesn’t want to be a stay-at-home hubby and, despite his trash ass superior, seems to enjoy his work. Like I think that’s why Type didn’t want to tell Tharn about what has been happening to him at work. In situations like this, it’s best for Tharn to offer support of whatever decision Type makes (which he ultimately does because he’s a good boyfriend).

Apart from that small thing, I think that scene in the bedroom was powerful. I really wasn’t expecting Type to be triggered by the gossip (ignorant on my part). To see him so hurt and upset and crying made me wanna cry too, he takes on so much and that shit made him breakdown. Tharn was hurt to see Type hurt and it showed. I’m sure he hated to see his love so affected. It looked like he was on the brink of tears too.

I’m sure Tharn really did hold Type the entire night. Tightly. Type has placed deep and complete trust in Tharn is and he finds his solace in Tharn’s embrace.

I think one really significant factor to Type’s aversion to getting married is how public his trauma was. I can’t remember which episode in the first season they discuss it but Type mentions that his abuse was made public and everyone in the community knew what had happened to him. Not only did he have to deal with what he had been through but also everyone looking at him, talking about him, maybe it even impacted his family’s business. Of course he’s terrified of a marriage to Tharn causing a similar effect - for himself, but also for Tharn. He thinks he’s protecting him.

And in this episode we learn no one in Tharn’s family’s company knows that Tharn is in a relationship. That “everyone knows he’s single”. Whether that’s because his family doesn’t discuss his sexuality or maybe it was at Type’s request, it does mean that Type isn’t wrong to think it would cause a stir.

So y’all maybe be a little gentle on Type for his fear.
