Emotional Support Side Couples in BL
Here's mine, what are yours?
No matter how angsty the upcoming episodes get, just remember that this is Cirrus and Phukan in their epilogue
Are Cir and Phu in the TharnType universe?
Hey Anon! They absolutely are part of the TharnType Universe. All of MAME's worlds are connected. But Cir and Phu are directly related related. Phu is part of the Kirigun Clan. He's Tharn, Thanya, and Thorn's first cousin.
If you watched s2 of TharnType the Series then you have actually met CirPhu already. They were the couple who lived across the hall from Tharn and Type. Phu was usually snuggling that teddy bear bunny and wearing cutesy clothes and Cir was always rude to the people who came into contact with Phu.
Tharn and Type actually spent some time teasing Cir for being so scarily serious about other men being around Phu.
And now we are gifted our lovely BossNoeul as CirPhu and I think a lot of people don't remember because there were different actors playing CirPhu originally. Or people don't remember much from TTS2. Or people didn't watch TharnType at all.
Tong Thanayut who played Tharn's older brother Thorn will be guest starring as Thorn again in The Boy Next World in ep 7 and that really ties the universes together. I can't wait to see him.
The Boy Next World (episode 8)
[Edited. I got a lot wrong earlier. Thank you @smokeymcbandit for patiently explaining my mistakes.]
The return to the parallel world plot line was a surprise I didn't expect, at least to come this early. I absolutely loved it.
This is a good time to revisit the silly little theories from the first post.
Based on what the white room resident Cir said, I was wrong in my theory about Phu being dead or on verge of death in one of the parallel worlds. But then, what is the trigger for the parallel worlds going off track with different Cirs entering other worlds and so on? I hope Cir's mom is at least partially the reason behind it. I wonder if Cirs would be travelling to different worlds again, since there are the band practice world and the one where Ozone is dead, which were only hinted at.
Now, Cir (in the white room Cir's body) has fallen for the Phu in university and would be reluctant to leave. Looks like Phu's confession for his Cir somehow managed to eject amnesiac Cir from that world and summon back his Cir.
So, Cir is in love with Phu he met in uni instead of in high school [and in a way cheating on Phu from his original world] [Cir just had this elaborate transfer of memories from white room Cir about how the latter's relationship developed with Phu which was his motivation after head trauma]. Phu here doesn't want the other Phu to have this Cir either.
With the parallel world plot reconstructed, Jin's mind-reading abilities can be considered supernatural, rather than just excellent observation skills as he claimed in episode 7. Now, what does Jin know? I guess he could be used as the key to unlock the dimensional transitions, but the plot might deem him insufficient and lean into love as the key instead.
But something is wrong with Jin's ability to hear Wim. At first, I thought Wim was having a lot of fast, incomplete thoughts. It might be the case that Jin will lose his ability completely, just like Ozone with his life in one of the parallel worlds.
Cir is not a resourceful stalker [that theory had tinges of jado from the beginning, made little sense given the intimate nature of the info he had and was affirmed in suspicious manner only in episode 5], instead had really elaborate dream-like collection of memories he inherits from another self that motivates him to act on his crush ASAP and get together with Phu.
Now, that brings back the first theory that the trigger or the starting point of these memory transfers and world-jumps started with a Cir losing his Phu and with that Cir trying to undo/redo time.
Some of my theories turned out correct -
There are multiple universes.
Cirrus is trying hard to get rich (and probably independent too) - only that the motivation to be independent is tied to his love for a life with Phu. Otherwise, he is indifferent to being under his mother's control.
Random Walk (between the universes) Hypothesis that Cir remembers stock trading info (especially prices) from other universes [and probably uses it for trading in the universe he is in, whenever possible].
I loved that this episode played into pre-Phu Cir with his sharp tongue and general arrogance and meanness, so lovely. There were instances in this episode that made me recall how this couple had been in TharnType season 2.
I enjoyed the overbearing president Cir and his knight-in-ironed-shirt Phu. Fan-service plot maneuvering and hair styling are welcome too.
I liked that their eventual reunion in the university world was on the road where they had separated, this time the tarmac still wet from rain.
As always, I want more of the vitriolic, oddly motivating Cir that keeps popping up in the white room and may be even paired up with the Cir who took over his body for a few moments in episode 5. [From that angle, iirc, Cir basically gave a hand job to the other Cir since he was in the other one's body when he jerked off after the first oral. Ah, the world of selfcest and all the possibilities.] [No selfcest possibilities 😔 I misunderstood what white room resident Cir had said. He was mentioning what happened in episode 5, as @smokeymcbandit explained in the comments.] I appreciate the concept of using white room torture chamber stylization more, now that I know that the different versions of Cir are separated from each other.
Jin owes Cir, even though Jin had earned Cir's cooperation in a way. I await reciprocation from Ozone and Jin.
I am disappointed that the fiancée is pretty much a pushover. I wanted her to match Cir's dramatic energy, especially in this episode. But then this story is as much as about kunlasatree (expectations of Thai femininity) as it is about Cir and Phu with the world-jumping.
if I come close, baby, would you like that? if I give some, would you give it right back?
