Daily Recap - Friday 07.08.16
Friday was a really good, really fun day (I say, reflecting on the day while sipping some green tea on this fine Saturday morning). The only thing that wasn’t great was dinner / drinks. But we’ll get to that.
I got up and out early and headed to the gym as usual. My train was delayed getting there, so I had less time than I normally would have, but it worked out alright because my back was a little sore / tight. So I did 35 minutes of really relaxed cardio - very light.. I think I hit 2.1 miles - followed by lots of stretching.
Fridays are bagel days at the office, but I wanted something that would keep me fuller, longer.. get more out of my caloric buck, if you will. So I opted to buy a veggie egg white flatbread. Solid breakfast choice. Lunch was easy, because I packed it -- a turkey sandwich, same thing I’ve had all week. I love turkey.
After work... well. My company, every year, plans a big event at Citi Field. We all buy tickets at a reduced rate, bring our family and friends, and go to a Mets game together. The ticket package includes seats of course, plus a choice of hot dog & fries or burger & fries, and unlimited beer for three hours. I bought the package tickets months ago. I knew last night would be a bit of a splurge, so to speak. So I had a burger - it was delish - and enjoyed my fair share of cold beer, good conversation, laughter... we got rained on, which I have to admit felt amazing after the stiflingly hot weather we’ve been having. I had a lot of fun, and so did B. I tracked everything that went into my mouth honestly, adding up to about 2900 in all. That would typically make me freak out a bit, because that is waaaay over what I would consider my ‘calorie budget,’ but this event had been planned for so long and I really don’t go to more than one baseball game a year, so. I’m not freaking out. It’s all good.
