 hold on i just realized something... while dib arguably has better plans for exposing zim than zim does for earth takeover or w/e... he, too, still fails somehow every time. somewhat hilariously, neither of them ever get what they want. sure, it’s easier to focus on zim’s failures (at least for me), but dib is. kind of also never succeeding because of some  thing or another. i’d say they both kindof just cancel eachother out perfectly but a lot of the time it’s some third factor screwing one/the other/both over. it’s like the universe itself also wants to neutralize them.

HOW many times have either of them been -this- close to their goal only for it to just. Not Work?? I’m aware from a narrative standpoint it kind of Has To Be That Way so dib and zim can just Keep Doing That each episode but man i don’t know if i should be laughing or just feeling sorry for that they’ve just been going through loops of failures for all these episodes
