That's not fair; I share! - The Magnus Archives 167 Animation
I finally finished it yall!!! I had so much fun animating one of my favorite moments from TMA and if you haven't already listened to it I definitely recommend it!!
How is no one in the Magnus fandom talking about MAG167 Curiosity.
I do mean Curiosity in general but right now I‘m directing y‘all‘s attention to the INSTANT FUCKING CARMA Gertrude got for sacrificing Michael. What the fuck was that.
Oh you betrayed someone? You sacrificed him to save the world without him knowing? You violated his blind trust in you without hesitation? Hey what if YOUR GIRLFRIEND OF FORTY YEARS IS A SERIAL KILLER. Yea that person. That you trusted blindly. Your whole life basically. Has been working behind your back for who knows how long. And killing and tormenting your other assistants. And you find that out RIGHT after you basically did the same thing to another person. So you can’t even go all Righteous Anger on her because you’re a hypocrite now. So you don’t, can’t, trust anyone ever again till you die. Oh yeah and that guy you killed isn’t even dead, he got distorted and twisted by the thing you fed him to and now he’s pissed.
So you went from three assistants to zero in, like, a week, two of them you killed yourself, and at least one of the others was killed by your lover (okay CONFIDANTE), which was also lowkey your fault for not noticing it. And now literally the only person you can trust is the fucking Antichrist. Who also kills herself, like, a year later. Which is also lowkey your fault btw. Gertrude was going THROUGH IT. How do you not believe in god or at least karma after that.
Like. That had to have been intentional, right. Was it the Web. Did the Web just randomly decide to fuck with Gertrude’s perception of reality. There’s actually no way the Web gave a crap about Michael so it must mean it was randomly like “oh my god. Oh my god you know what would be HILARIOUS. Let’s. Let’s give her TRUST ISSUES. Let’s give her an EXISTENTIAL CRISIS. Let’s get her to think GOD IS REAL.“ And all the other Fears Gertrude’s pissed off over the years are like “holy fuck girl DO IT“. I mean it did finally bring the Web‘s OTP together so win win i guess?
You don't know?! The number one on the archives suicide hot line doesn't know!
Nobody talk to me it's thinking about Michael Shelley time rn
what the fuck, what the fucky fuck was this
Listened to this episode in 2020 and it altered my brain chemistry forever
jon: says martin is his 'reason'
martin, not even 3 seconds later: if you died-
hot take but people are too harsh on jon given that he was only head archivist for like four years. gertrude was canonically about as much of a dumbass in her early years (as per mag 145). the only reason why she got so good at it was because she managed 1. to live for so damn long and 2. not to fully devote herself to the eye, in addition to the fact that they were much more open about the powers during her time (mag 167)
