Let's Talk: VP Debate Night
...Holy shit was it bad; The presidential debate was excruciating but had some entertaining stuff while the VP debate was boring and also excruciatingly painful.
Kamala made some good points about the tax cuts, the incompetence of the administration on the pandemic, and her answer to Breonna Taylor and Police brutality was ok (more importantly she did mentioned getting rid of private prisons and decriminalizing marijuana which was pretty based).
However, the folksy anecdotes got to go, it takes time away from answering the questions and it not going to persuade anyone. She also let Pence interrupt her and letting him dominate the debate. if you're going to say "I am talking" you gotta be aggressive. She was not aggressive enough, she did not challenge Pence for not answering any of the questions.
oh Pence, I keep forgetting what this man sounds like cause he rarely talks and now I know why he does not talk often. He did not answer a single question given to him (constantly pivoting) and he runs on and on about things that does not pertained to the topics at all. (Also a weasley little liar). That man went full conspiracy towards the end.
That question from the 8th grader was ... very much a lib take and the compromising answer was also bad.
Optically and sadly, Pence did better in this debate; he’s not a fucking loony like Trump so he didn’t dig himself a hole. The moderator was just given Pence free real estate.
The moderator was weak; honestly they walked all over her in this debate. I was expecting another Chris Wallace smack down sort of mod.
The debates need a fact checker honestly, 2 moderators, and the mods should be allowed to cut the mic if the opponents are interrupting or talking to long and they should be way more aggressive when it comes to the opponents not answering the questions.
The best moments in the debate:
+ That fly chilling on Pence head (fucking godsend)
+ The person coughing?sneezing? in the background
+ The uncomfortable distance and the long ass claps in the end
