Valentino throwing his drink at Vox's face and consequently proving how easily his screen could break just goes to show that Alastor never aimed for Vox's face in their fight. He only struck at his gadgets and technological additions to disarm him; he never actually hurt Vox. Whatever Alastor feels for him, no matter how messy or hidden or deep in denial it is, is still there even 70 years later.

Kyle has been flirting with you for weeks. And for weeks, you haven't really responded to any of his attempts. He thought at first you might be naive, but when Johnny asked you about it, you just shrugged.

"I know he is." Was all you said, and it drove Kyle a little crazy. He can handle rejection. Not everyone was going to want him, but you never rejected him. You even flirted back playfully once or twice, but nothing more.

"Do you like me, or not? Like, romantically." Kyle blurts out one day, side by side in the locker room. You look over at him with a mild surprise before shrugging your shoulders.

"Well, you're a really sweet guy, I think you're cute, but I don't date. Because dating means sex. Maybe not right away for everyone, but eventually. And I don't want to have sex." You answer honestly, watching Kyle process your words.

You're a little nervous about what his reaction would be. You expected anger, or maybe a guilt trip, or a classic "you must be lying, everyone has sex." But instead, he says something that catches you completely off guard.

"I know the perfect guy for you!"

Any time someone unironically describes Jonathan as "dark" I just know they're not a true Jonathan stan. Like this guy?

Like one of the main themes of s1 is that "Things aren't what they seem" and that extends to the characters.

Viktor is one of the most passionate and kind characters in all of Arcane.

Remember the scene where he's explaining the hexcore function to Jayce? Remember the pure, unbridled passion and excitement?

Remember how when he was angry at Jayce on the bridge, how he didn't yell?

Remember how, even though it ended up being the Wrong Thing, while under the Hexcore's manipulation, all he wanted to do was Help? All he ever wanted to do was help those who needed it?

Remember how he was so so devastated when Heimerdinger told him and Jayce their inventions needed more time, becuase he Didn't Have More Time? That 'they could be improving lives now!'?

Viktor is kind, soft, and passionate, please understand this is an integral part of his character.

I watched season 1 of sense8 the other day and I feel like talking about and ranking the characters for no particular reason.

Nomi. She's the best, very relatable, it's wonderful to see actual transfem characters in media and not have it be a big deal. Obviously dealing with transphobia is a big part of her arc, but besides that she just exists, with a lovely girlfriend (Amanita is also very fun, always happy to see Freema Agyeman beyond Doctor Who). Nomi is the reason I started watching the show.

Capheus. He's always optimistic, the Van Damn thing is both cheesy but at the same time very fun, it's always a joy when he's around the others. I'm sad they changed actors for Season 2, I hope the new guy keeps the energy.

Sun. Badass, but she's not one-note, her martial arts aren't her only character trait. It's very obvious that she's intelligent both emotionally and intellectually, and while her plotline seems a little incomplete, it feels more like it's being set up for season 2. I do feel like they needed to have her borrow skills from some of the others at some point in Season 1 though; so far she's only been lending martial arts, never receiving direct help and only giving it. Capheus and Riley have helped her emotionally at least, but it's not the same.

Lito. He is a ridiculous man and I love it, definitely the most emotional of the group, but I guess an actor playing an actor would do the best impression. His love of Hernando is the most convincing romance in the story (Nomi and Amanita is on par but that feels less like romance and more just love), and I like that they consider Dani as a friend before anything else.

Kala. She's the actually smart one in the group, which is nice to see conventionally that role goes to a nerdy white guy or guy-and-girl pair instead of a woman of colour. Her story is one of the ones I'm less invested in, but I still very much care about her. Also, a rarity in media: she is marrying someone she doesn't love and who loves her, but she does *like* him, they would definitely still be friends outside of the context of him being in love with her.

Wolfgang. His story is fun, I appreciate how he cares for Felix and doesn't give a fuck about the rest of his family, and he gets a lot of cool moments, including when helping out the others (I liked Will's "I can't crash this ambulance into you and kill us all, but I know someone who can" moment, and also the back-and-forth "x is what I do" moment with Lito). But god this man has no game. How Kala fell in love with him in like 3 days is impossible for me to understand.

Riley. I want to like her, I enjoy scenes that she's in, but a lot of her plotline (the death of her husband and child, the woman who told her she was hexed) just didn't resonate with me in ways the others did. She also doesn't really have any skills that she can share with the others (everyone else has at least one thing, and I feel like it makes her less of a part of the team), and while it would work if she were the emotional core of the group, they all have these nuggets of wisdom and support they share with each other as much as she does. She is very nice in scenes with others though, her personality is endearing even if her story isn't.

Will. He's a cop.
