so i’m out at work but like everyone keeps forgetting somehow. i have like two coworkers who actually try and correct themselves when they slip up. it’s fine, i just try and dissociate about my gender whenever i’m at work because ik i’m gonna get “miss,” “ma’am,”ed and “she”d all day by the customers regardless, but my manager (a fifty seven year old man) genuinely makes an effort which is chill. he gets it wrong a lot, but he tries. today though, bro asked me what made me decide to be a him/her (he meant he/him) and like. i’m usually always down for helping people understand the trans experience but bro it’s 9:30 at night, i’ve been here for hours, and i do not feel like explaining the intricacies of my gender identity to a fifty seven year old cishet man. please. just let me do my job and go home. 😭 (he’s also started saying “the female side came out” whenever i do anything slightly effeminate like express. pain. when i burn my arm and cut myself by accident. and like. made sure our cookies looked right. and like. don’t say that to a trans person PLEASE bro)
