Luna Lovegood: Something about you other people find weird.

The fact I’m single and living alone and fine with that seems to come up a lot irl lately. I think it’s because I’m in my late twenties (just south of 30) honestly. It’s kind of annoying and uncomfortable tbh.

Albus Dumbledore: What is your proudest accomplishment?

Oh gosh that’s hard. I guess some of my educational accomplishments? Or when just a mini-ranger led event I do with kids goes well. I always kind of panic before them but they usually go well with both parents and kids liking it. (So far... /touches wood/) I also kind of like how I did improve with writing because of fanfic even if I hardly have time/energy for it most of the time.

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

Monsters University was on the verge of release and renewed my interest in the original film.

I’ll also be mean and say I wasn’t big on how some folks wrote redemptive Randall stories at the time: by basically crapping over Sulley and Mike. Sure there were some good fics but otherwise.... (Hell,even I did this myselfwith a very subpar fanfic like when I first started writing which is long since deleted). 

Demonising Sulley and Mike isn’t very interesting to me so I guess I wanted an AU where an extra dimension to Randall was thrown in but it still... felt like Sulley and Mike (to me anyway).

5: What part was hardest to write?

WATERNOOSE. If I’m honest I’m not entirely happy on him to this day. Not completely unhappy but like  only 70% okay with how he’s written at best? I feel like I made him too dark to make Randall sympathetic. I’d probably need some tweaking there. I mean: make it a bit more subtle at least. (There’s still this bit where he’s talking to Sulley in the office that I haaate because it’s basically Sulley telling the reader how to feel about him *grumbles* but ff.net doesn’t let you copy and paste otherwise I’d take that bit out at least and make myself at least 75% happy instead)

Also in the bit I left off/got stuck on Johnny is... hard? (And other MU characters I had). I think it’s because he’s relatively new in comparison. I’d had years of obsessing on MI and their characters. (But then as interesting as I find Waternoose.... *groans*)

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?

Is this like different ideas I had? Idk. I’ve written (mostly bad and deleted) fanfics on these characters before.

For planning this fic in later chapters I did (for five minutes) wonder about making Boo’s parents have a larger role. I mean in the still-there-plans they’re actually there/actual characters but it became really reduced? Like they’re there one chapter and then only mentioned in the very end ‘off page’ as it were later on.

Also Johnny was more of a raging dick in previous plans (you know before MU was even really out) but then I was like nah. I mean he’s still majorly flawed in the future plans I had but y’know. He’s still ‘human’ (for lack of a better phrase).

Same D: I just can’t believe they fucked my boy up like this. On the plus side tho we have the Tv series to look foreword to which is being made by the original creator and is deffo a passion project! I’m going to try and focus on that and not this absolute ABOMINATION.

Hi @thatdoodlebug1 No don’t apologise, it’s really kind of you to take the time to write. Thank you. I don’t really know either. You raise a good point, it’s fictional and no one is getting hurt. I really agree with the idea of love what you love and be happy. I hope seeing you echo that idea will help Billy Zane Anon.

Actually, even if Billy Zane Anon doesn’t read these or get anything from them I think it’s really nice that people have commented and liked posts and offered advice. I usually find the nicest people on tumblr anyway but the input from others to this anon has made tumblr seem like an even nicer and friendly place so thanks to all of you. Y’all are good people.
