Are we talking about confirmation??? I went through it when I was 14, and we had to write a faith statement. According to my mom, mine basically said, "God isn't actually real, so just be nice to people and you're like Jesus." We also got to go to Chicago and see a Hindu temple and a church predominantly attended by African-Americans, while we were all small-town white kids.
Honestly, it was a pretty good experience. My youth pastor really encouraged questions and finding your own relationship with "God". And when we got confirmed, he picked a Bible verse out for us each, and mine was about being worth more than a dozen sparrows. (It's Matthew 10:31, its the only one I know)
Anyway, I still don't believe in God, but I carry the lessons of being kind.
