One of my big illustrations for Shattered Plains project needed a detour, to explore inhabitants of warcamps.  Those aren’t any particular characters, just npcs of higher and lower class, along with a travelling thaylen merchant.  I approached also the parshmen, but didn’t quite fit into the stylised style I’m going for, so they were scrapped. I’ll draw them again, better.

Audiobook WoB

Questioner: Was the Thaylen accent changed between The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance? Because the Wind's Pleasure crew and Tvlakv all sound a bit different.

Brandon Sanderson: Yeah. That's not intentional. That is just more, I leave the accents completely up to the audiobook readers. I don't tell them an accent. I do try to send them pronunciation guides, but those don't always arrive in time, which is why you can see some discrepancies. But, yeah, I let them pick the accents.
