Can you do a story where the Apprentice starts sleeping walking and has nightmares. While sleepwalking she tries to get to the Lazeret where her body was burned. Maybe even crying with grief and LI of your choice tries to help her through this.
Sure thing! I am gonna make it gender neutral though lol, I dont like to write gendered stuff
The first thing Julian noticed upon waking up was that it was cold. Odd. He never woke up cold, not when you were next to him.
The second thing he noticed was that you were, indeed, not next to him. Maybe you were up getting some water, going to the bathroom perhaps but ah - was that the sound of the front door? Now that’s unusual. He trusted you, of course, but maybe it was for the best he go check on you real quick. Just in case. Julian threw on the closest shirt and pulled his pants up as he walked down the stairs, calling for you gently, “Darling? Do you know what time it is?”
Through bleary eyes he surveyed the room, in which there were a few points of interests to note. Those points being the door left wide open, swinging slightly from the wind, and your faint silhouette walking seemingly aimlessly down the street.
Eyebrows furrowed, he grabbed your coat, still hung up from the day before, and took strides to catch up with you, calling your name to no response. When you were within reach, he grabbed your shoulder tenderly, pulling you lightly backwards and facing towards him. “Sweetheart, where are you off to? Is everything-” One look into your eyes sent a shiver down his spine; your eyes were open, yes, but completely glazed over. There was a hollowness he’d never before seen in you, striking worry into his heart. As if nothing had happened, you pulled out of his grasp and continued on your way, wherever that could be. After a second of shock he continued by your side, draping your coat over your shoulders as he did. “You know, it’s chilly this season - best to have a coat on; you, uh, don’t want to catch a cold.”
Only seconds of unbearable silence passed before he filled it again, this time chatting about a dream he’d had in a dramatic retelling. Julian had no idea if you could hear him; It didn’t matter. On the off chance that you could, he needed you to know that you were not taking this journey, wherever it was headed, alone. He continued to ramble on to you about anything he could possibly think of, trying to distract himself from the crushing anxiety over your wellbeing. In fact, he distracted himself so well he nearly didn’t notice your sudden stop until he had almost walked over the ledge of the dock. He yelped, stumbling backwards and taking in his surroundings. Ah, yes. The dock. The one that overlooked The Lazaret. Lovely.
He looked back to you, hoping you had plans to move on somewhere, anywhere else. But no. You were locked in place, staring directly at the island where you had once laid. He took a step towards you, reaching out a hand uselessly, “Ah, love, is this - did you mean to - hm,” He internally cursed himself for the incredible lack of words coming to mind.
But then, something in your eyes changed. It seemed like you had just noticed he was there, looking at him meaningfully and then back at the island. And then you broke down. With a swiftness he didn’t know he had, Julian caught you in his arms as you collapsed in sobs, burying your face into his chest. He rocked you back and forth in his arms, shushing you and cooing quiet “I know’s” and “You’re safe now’s”. Fingers trailed lightly up and down your spine and brushing your hair, until your cries turned into soft whimpering and shaky breaths.
As you sat in his sturdy arms, soft kisses pressed to your temple and hair, you knew his words to be true - you were safe now. And you were going to be okay.
