Number 10: a description of your OC by someone who hates them

Deacon hated a lot of things, it was fair to say. He hated heights, he hated the Institute, he hated bigotry. Right now, he especially hated the Brotherhood. And not just the Brotherhood (although he did hate the Brotherhood. Bastardhood of Shitheads, more like). He hated their newest member, a certain ‘Rudi Schleicher”.

She paraded around with an air of righteousness and authority, not that she had either.

She had been a spy prewar. He had read about her in the records, back when Switchboard was operational. Rudi was probably the only spy more qualified than him in the whole damned Wasteland. And boy was she qualified. 43 years of age, (253, really) spending 25 of those working for the US as a spy.

He was just glad he never tried to recruit her. He’d stalked Rudi across the Wastes, weighing up his chances, when she massacred Goodneighbor. She just appeared there one day with her toy Paladin in toe, and obliterated every resident who didn’t flee.

But. From what he’d heard, the Paladin wasn’t around anymore. Betrayed by the woman he recruited.

Deacon didn’t like to think about how that could be him. He also didn’t like to think about how the Brotherhood was coming for the Railroad, even though that was all that he was able to think about.

He tried to always stay 3 steps ahead on this chessboard, but he was pretty sure Rudi was about to claim Checkmate.

Silvia is going to meet Paladin Danse and immediately walk away and try not to throw up because no woman has ever been as fed up with the brotherhood of steel.

She’s gonna go back and talk to him, and steel her nerves and “join” the Brotherhood (without telling him she’s already a member twice over), and try to convince the Brotherhood to change. Of course, it won’t work. It didn’t when she tried before.

She’ll save Danse and pray that the Brotherhood just leave. Of course, they won’t.

She’ll hope that the Railroad is safe. Of course, they aren’t. Her friends will die, and this is the Brotherhood she had feared from the start. The Brotherhood she hoped they wouldn’t become.

Ghouls in the BoS

I never really understood why ghouls aren’t allowed in the BoS because they could be huge assets to the Brotherhood;

The Glowing Sea - Instead of risking non-ghouls dying of over-exposure (or even becoming a ghoul themselves) they could just send out ghoul-only teams. I mean, they’re healed by radiation. They could get such good intel and data from the glowing sea because of this.

Ferals - If the Brotherhood had to take a spot that was seriously infested (e.g Lexington) they could send ghouls in first, since the ferals would be passive towards them before they attacked, it would give the ghouls ample time to find the best points to attack from and devise a strategy before bringing in the regular soldiers to exterminate the ferals

Service - Due to their unnaturally long lifespan ghouls could easily become the longest serving in the BoS. Imagine the conversation with new recruits;

“You’ll be serving under Paladin Mitchells, our longest serving in the Brotherhood.”

“How long have they been serving?”

“Oh, give or take 170 years?”
