Talking about my tarot card drawings part 1

What inspired me to do this?: This was all inspired by my sister, who was a bit sleep deprived, briefly misinterpreting this as a drawing of the Hanged Man tarot card

What are the card designs I’m using?: I used the appearances of the tarot cards from Persona 3 & Persona 4

Why those in particular?: They were simplistic and unlike some of the more famous ones, they don’t have nudity. I’m sure some minor aged people look at my art, so I didn’t want to use mature looking stuff as references

Why didn’t you draw First, Malon, the Shadow, etc. as tarot cards?: My original plan was just do to the 9 Links

Will you do the rest of major arcana?: Maybe? But I’ll probably do other drawings first. What I do know is that they’ll be Legend of Zelda themed instead of Linked Universe themed

Will you do the minor arcana too?: Maybe? I’m probably only going to do a couple of each type because doing every single one would be exhausting and repetitive. They’ll probably be LoZ themed too

Who was the hardest to pick one for?: Probably either Warriors or Legend

Who was the easiest to pick one for?: Probably either Twilight or Hyrule

Did you go for what the card means in fortune telling or did you go for the card art when choosing?: I went with what the card means in fortune telling. If I went by the art, a couple of them would’ve been different. Like I would’ve made Time be the Moon and would’ve made the Tower be themed after Spirit Tracks for example

Did you have fun doing these?: Yeah, it was something unique to do. They were time consuming though and they didn’t get as much attention as I would’ve liked with them being high effort for my standards

Talking about my tarot card drawings part 2

Wind: I chose the Fool. Why? New beginnings; being a hero wasn’t something he’d planned and it was something new. Innocence; he’s just a kid who didn’t know what he was getting into. Spontaneity; he chose to be a hero just to save his sister and ends up proving himself to the goddesses. He could also fit for one of the reversed symbolisms, recklessness. He could be reckless while trying to prove he’s just as good as the other heroes despite being the youngest.

Warriors: I chose the Chariot. Why? Departure; his game is literally a departure from the series norm 😆 Discipline; he’s a captain of the army, so he’d discipline his fellow soldiers. Courage; he’s quite literally the symbol of that, willing to take down hoards of monsters. He also fits for two of the reversed symbolisms too. He was careless and arrogant because he was relying too much on the Master Sword’s power and forgot he needs to rely on his allies.

Twilight: I chose the Strength. Why? Courage; his courage inspires a lot of people and it’s sweet, he’s definitely courageous for the creepy stuff in his game 😆 Passion; he’s really passionate about his love of animals, especially towards Ordon Goats. Vitality; it can mean someone who’s strong and he’s definitely such 😆 I guess he can fit for two of the reversed symbolisms, particularly if you fuse struggle and weakness. He seems to struggle with showing weakness because he’s stubborn and people look up to him.

Hyrule: I chose the Hermit. Why? For starters, he literally fits the name 😆 Wisdom; you have to be pretty smart to navigate the first Zelda game without a guide or friends to piggyback off of. Independence; he’s all on his own and might prefer it that way. Awareness; he always needs to be aware of surroundings, he’s being hunted after for his blood, which can revive Ganon. He could fit for two of the reversed symbolisms too. Isolation; his blood curse probably forces him to be alone. Distance; he probably feels distant from the others because he feels that he’s not as grand as the others.

Legend: I chose the Wheel of Fortune(sometimes just known as Fortune). Why? Fate, karma, & unpredictably. When will these hero journeys stop? It feels like karma and fate that he keeps getting dragged into them. A negative phase, bad luck, & a lack of control. It’s just his luck that he can’t control when he’s dragged into yet another hero journey.

Four: I chose the Temperance. Why? Balance; he’s the balance of the four elements; earth, fire, water & wind. Harmony; he’s the harmony of his split selves. Patience; he seems to be the more calm member of the group. I guess he could fit one of the reversed symbolisms; extremes. His split selves are kind of the extremes of what makes him be him and his personality.

Wild: I chose the Tower. Why? Disruption, change of life, & awakening. Those all fit him waking up in the Shrine of Resurrection after getting blasted by a Guardian. Collapse, stormy times, & restlessness. The Calamity was a stormy time and the collapse of everything he knew and loved. He feels like he can’t sit still nowadays.

Sky: I chose the Moon. Why? He has mysterious and foreboding dreams. He also has a fear(one of the reversed symbolisms) of not being fast enough.

Time: I chose the Judgment. Why? Liberation; he frees Termina from Majora. Redemption: his Termina journey interceded with his regained childhood. Awakening; his Termina journey was his awakening to the powers of the Fierce Deity. One of the reversed symbolisms fits him too. Destruction; He fears that the powers of the Fierce Deity’s Mask will destroy what makes him be him if he dons it again.

today i was at the pool and i read the entirety of your novel and now i feel like i deserve emotional compensation 😭 also i need more people to read it so we can start a little book club and discuss it cause i have like. feelings!!! and some lingering questions..... Anyways thanks for making me cry at the pool, i enjoyed it and i hope it does well!! 🩷
