'Cargo destined for SA passing through Strait of Hormuz without interruption' - Mantashe | The Citizen

The United States and Israel's war in Iran has ignited global panic.

Mineral and Petroleum Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe has urged South Africans not to panic about a possible fuel shortage, saying vessels carrying cargo and supplies destined for South Africa are passing through the Strait of Hormuz without interruption or threats of attacks from Iran.

Mantashe was responding to questions in the National Assembly on Wednesday as South Africans remained deeply concerned about fuel shortages and a possible massive spike in fuel prices, which is expected to kick in next week.

The United States and Israel’s war in Iran has ignited global panic, with the conflict expected to severely impact fuel prices and supply.

During the session in the National Assembly, ANC MP Fasiha Hassan asked Mantashe whether South Africa’s petroleum supply security arrangements are adequate to withstand sustained external supply disruptions resulting from the war.

Mantashe said there was no need to panic.

“You will see that the question reflects panic. And as a mineworker, one thing I learnt early in life is that panic kills. Despite the heightened geopolitical risk, including the disruption to the Middle East shipping routes, the Republic’s current petroleum supply security arrangement remains robust.”

Mantashe added that Iran gave countries two requirements to continue operating in the strait, saying Pretoria was engaging Brics partners about the current conflict.

“In the Strait of Hormuz, there is one requirement they want, you can go through if you are not a partner or in alliance with the US and Israel. If you are not in alliance with those, you are allowed through. The second requirement is that you will pay Iran in rial, not dollars.

“That is a political decision taken by Iran,” Mantashe told MPs. “All cargo coming to South Africa is allowed through. There is no fear of this. Unless you want to identify yourself with [the US] and Israel.”

Sketch Ideas for Roll!

Ideas / Notes Under the Cut!

We don’t really know if The Gambler is supposed to be Roll or a new Character in act 3, I personally lean towards the later based on lyrics. BUT, I love Roll and had to add her in anyhow.

My ideas / HCS (Which of course will change when we get Act 3) are as follows.

Roll was already well in the works while Light made Rock, which is why she didn’t take 5ever to finish and he didn’t just scrap the idea of more robots after he lost Blues and Rock.

Roll works with Light on robotics and is a skilled mechanic. She traverses the city scrapping robots and building new defenses for their home base outside the city.

Roll agrees with her brothers and has no interest in fighting for mankind. However she isn’t with them 100%, as she doesn’t have a strong hatred for the citizens and she isn’t going to join Wily to go against the people.

I’d like to think Rock and Roll meet in the dark streets of the city and are able to talk despite their different paths.

Roll was told the truth about Blues and Rock from the start.

Roll is also skilled with medical care. Combining her knowledge from robot repair and what she’s learned from medical books and data banks she’s stolen from The City and abandoned towns nearby.
