so ik it’s accepted that Theo sees himself as less than other supernaturals (he even calls himself a “cheap knockoff” at one point). but have we ever considered that he also probably feels less than human?

there’s no canon standard for how long he was with the Dread Doctors, how many experiments they subjected him to, or what all they did to him, but we know he has to have undergone at least two procedures (the heart transplant and whatever the fuck they do to turn you into a chimera). he’s spent so much of his life being cut open and rearranged and then sown shut like it was nothing that this man pretty much had his childhood and his humanity in general surgically removed. like sure he did some awful shit but lowkey i’d turn evil from all that too. ESPECIALLY if i was tricked into killing my sister to facilitate all this.

As a general rule the dread doctors would leave Theo on his own if they didn't need him for an experiment, mission, or something else along those lines. They could just come get him if they needed him so they'd leave him with money to support himself and do their own thing. So Theo spent a lot of time wandering around hubs of supernatural activity being taken under the wings of various people of varying levels of morality with a variety of skills. Due to this he's basically the most well connected supernatural in the country and definitely has quite the reputation between that and stories of his actions during missions for the doctors. This doesn't mean he was actually close to anyone of course. He'd made that mistake during some of the first handful of times. Very rarely was Theo ever actually informed of why they were somewhere and had accidentally gotten close to people the doctors had plans for.

Theo Raeken was a very sick child. He was a little kid with worsening chronic health conditions who experienced a brutal kidnapping. He had a heart transplant in a sewer, and he was conscious for it. His abusers convinced him this is what his sister wanted.

Theo Raeken did vile, despicable things. He did things the McCall pack can never forgive or forget, and rightfully so. That said, he did it all either under orders or in a violent attempt to secure his own autonomy.

Theo Raeken was exactly what he was raised to be. In that regard, it would have been particularly interesting if his story had overlapped with Allison’s. She would have understood him in a way the others couldn’t. If Allison was still alive, maybe Theo wouldn’t have been sent to Hell.

Allison Argent understood what it’s like to grow up manipulated into being the exact kind of person who follows orders. She would have despised Theo for killing Scott, and she never would have forgiven him, but she would have understood why he did it.

"True evil only comes from corrupting something truly good" in relation to Theo is so interesting.

You can totally look at it as Theo having been very good once, and having been corrupted into the evil he was. And thats heartbreaking enough.

But like in the context of the show its clearly meant to imply that Theo wasnt a wholly good person from the start. However, it also implies that he never reached true evil either. He was a failed chimera after all.

He wasn't truly good so he cant be truly evil. Its either both or nothing. He has always been neither. A middle thing. A grey area. Like most humans are id argue.

Yes, Theo was never a wholly good person, which is what the doctors took advantage of. But they only corrupted him so far. And it didnt hold. And he changed. And he was human again, in the end.

I don't know why I think Theo likes working as a mechanic...

I think Theo would hate working as a doctor..

I think his time in hell and with The Dread Doctors made him hate any medical subject.
