sometimes going back to boston means sitting on the ground after a failed kegstand, wearing one million different hats, vomming ur borg up into a bush, rolling around in mud while trying to catch a baseball, blacking out and sending "i lvoe yuo" texts to your linemate, mansplaining how to take photo to a member of the BU women's hockey team, and then passing out in your brother's d-partner's bed.

sometimes going back to boston means having a mimosa at brunch with your manager and childhood bestie, cheering on his wife at the marathon, heading back to chestnut hill and celebrating the legacy of marmon in a demure mindful way with 10-15 of your closest friends who keep your shit on lock, and then putting your phone on dnd and tucking yourself into bed by 9pm with two advil and a tall glass of water so that you're ready for your training session tomorrow.

this is what i mean when i say that, upon first watch i thought that Mike was going to pull the Uno reverse card because look:

what is the reason of such expression if not "what do you mean I'm not like you? we're so much alike". and next time we see him is the gulp/holding back tears, which is shortly after Will said he HAD a crush on a certain someone:

and Mike realized he was the one Will had a crush on, and this the look of someone who's playing back every single memory. every single moment where he doubted, where he felt there was something and that was too scary to admit and too foolish to wish it was real.

but Will:

and that's all it took, for Mike to understand that he doesn't need to be afraid anymore. because Will gives him the courage to fight on and this? this is the look of someone who's determined to fight on, for what's right, and if there is even just ONE chance to make things right, he's not going to waste it.
