Sisters Night In

To say that the lives of Yelena Belova and Natasha Romanoff werent conventional was an understatement. However after the incident where they took down the Red Room and reconnected after so many years apart, the two had decided to keep in touch and be more like sisters and get to know each other now as adults.

While Yelena did have her mission to free the other widows, and Natasha was on the run from essentially the whole world after the incident in Germany. It just so happened that they were hiding out in the same place and figured to turn it into something of a girl's night. However since they didnt know what a normal girl's night looked like they did their best to make it the best that they could, or at least Yelena had. Since it was her safehouse first she had gotten everything she could considering they were in a third world country, she was able to get some snacks or what counted as snacks, some old vhs tapes of 'chick flicks', and some nail polish from a drug store that seemed to have just a couple of different shades.

As Yelena set things out for their night together she heard a knock at the door, at first she approached it with her gun drawn and ready to to shoot. After a couple of steps she whistled her secret whistle with Natasha, if she heard it back it back she knew it was Natasha, if she didnt she should come out blasting. As she finished the start of the whistle she waited for the response with anxious anticipation.

How About That Drink Now

So much of Yelena’s life right now was just a jumble of things, especially since The Blip happened. She had believed that Clint Barton had killed her sister and he hadnt, she was using the skills she learned from the Red Room to make a living for herself and now that the holidays were here so many thoughts were going through her mind. Her sister was gone, she was in New York for the first time in her life and while she was excited about it, the fact that the holidays were about family and not being alone when she was alone really had gotten to her a little bit. 

She had thought about Kate Bishop and even though she was interrogating her a little bit, she did enjoy the girl, even though she was sure the girl was possibly not even of drinking age she wanted to take her up on her offer of a drink. However she had tracked her down to Clint’s family home and saw the scene that she almost destroyed in the most heart wrenching way. She saw how much love and togetherness there was in that little home and what a good man Clint was, and while she wished she could join in she figured it would be rude to intrude and especially after she had tried to kill the man. 

The next best thing that Yelena could do was stay at Kate’s place for a couple of days waiting for the woman to come back home. Yelena figured that perhaps the New Years holiday would be a fun time to spend with the girl, finally after a couple of days the young woman came back and she went to greet her, “Kate Bishop, welcome home!” Yelena greeted from the above loft area of her apartment. “Did you have a nice trip?” she asked her curiously with a subtle and as best a smile as she could muster.

Girl’s Night Pt. 2

After everything that had happened Kate needed a vacation, and being able to spend the holidays with her hero and his family was perfect. New Years day was the last day of that vacation, sure Laura and Clint had offered to her to stay for longer but she didnt want to take advantage of their hospitality and overstay her welcome. She gave everyone a hug goodbye and made sure she had Clint’s real number before she asked to be taken to the train station and dropped off. 

It had been a great time for Kate and she didnt want it to end, but like all good things it had to and she had to come back home and deal with everything that came after. She had to fix and clean up her apartment after the tracksuits had tossed their molotov cocktails into her place, she had to get ready to testify on her mother’s involvement with Wilson Fisk and his operations and the murder of Armond, then of course there was the cleaning up the called off wedding to Jack.

Kate walked into her apartment and expected to shiver as she remembered the windows that were broken, however she had seen that most of the work she had expected to do was already fixed. There were a few things she had to do still but the apartment windows were fixed and the place was warm, and seemed like someone had been living here, “Hello?” she called confused wondering if there was someone squatting in her place. She wasnt expecting anyone, but then again alot of what happened was very much unexpected.

Been Training For This

Kate had been so excited for this, she had been training for this her whole life ever since she had seen Clint Barton fighting an alien invasion with a bow and arrow. After her father was killed in the invasion she had spent all of her time training in archery, gymnastics, martial arts, fencing and many more arts that she thought would be necessary for a hero like an the next Clint Barton would need. 

It was at the last competition of her senior year of high school, she had just turned eighteen and was set to graduate in a couple of weeks. She had just won her third all state archery championship and was making quite the stir nationwide for all of her accomplishments, when someone from Shield had approached her and her mother to join their ranks. Unknown for her it was a part of an initiative to start to groom the next generation of avengers after the original group retired. 

After graduation she had been in training, it had been one of the hardest things for her to do but she had come out of it and was now in the next round, though while in training she just happened to be paired up with a friend, who just happened to turn out to be the daughter of none other than Steve Rogers, Captain America. Ever since then the two had been inseparable, where one was the other was not far behind. The two often sparred with one another, always pushing each other to their limits and beyond, always making each other better for it.

Kate had found herself flat on her back, sweating, red faced, and hair matted and all over the place, frustration written on her face as she breathed heavily. “Ugh! I walk into that every, single, time!” she said frustrated that again she fell into the same trap and was again on her back. “Amy, how is it that you always get me with that?” she asked not to quick to move from where she rested on the mat.

Reporting For Duty

Ben had a new lease on life, and he was thankful to Rey for that, she had done so much for him and he had done so much to bring pain and anguish to the galaxy. After the Resistance had deemed that he wasnt a threat he had vowed to help them remove the last remnants of the first and last order through the galaxy. 

It had been a while since Ben had started this quest of his, he had been tirelessly what felt like all over the galaxy. He had heard about a first order strong hold planet and a garrison of resistance fighters that were trying to clear it out. He landed the freighter he was flying that was carrying fresh supplies for the soldiers and a few personnel with him, as he familiarized himself with the base they were using he found the officer in charge, “Hi, are you Shiraya Marek? I’m Ben Solo, I’m here to help.” he said as he reported in for duty.

Carol had a hard time saying that she didnt like what Genis was doing, she was enjoying the power exchange of it all. Sure she was just as powerful as he was and could be on top if she wanted to, but she wanted to be on the bottom every now and then. "Well I have to admit that its fun to be a brat and say I dont." Carol said playfully as she quirked her eyebrow slightly and smiled at him playfully.

"No, that wasnt brave that was being foolish. I thought you smarter than let something like vanity and pride to guide you to something so dangerous." he replied to her still running off of pure emotion and adrenalin from saving Caroline from her costly mistake.

Natasha walker over to the birthday boy with a small box behind her back. "I have something for you." She said with a smile and presented him the box. "Happy birthday Steve." Inside the box was a vintage watch given to the soldiers during world war 2.

Steve wasnt feeling very festive this year for his birthday, usually now a days his birthday just reminded him that anyone he really had a connection with was long gone, the only person he had in this whole world was Bucky. Though he supposed that wasnt so bad, but still he felt like a fish out of water and wished he didnt feel this way.

That aside, the news in the country and attitude towards it also depressed him, he was just starting to think that everyone had forgotten about him when he saw Natasha walking towards him and he was brought out of his thoughts. He furrowed his brow as he wondered what it was that she had for him.

When she pulled out the box he took it and unwrapped it and he felt his breath taken away from him, the watch was beautiful and looked like a watch that was given to him when he was enlisted in the SSR during the war, "Natasha, how did you?" he asked her unable to finish his question as it caught in his throat, he looked up at her with such appreciation clear in his face. Steve smiled at her, "Thank you." he said gently to her.
