Here’s the third OC prompt, merfolk. Sol is based on a Flapjack Octopus, also known as a Cutie pie Octopus. After completing this I had more ideas about if she was based on a Blue-ringed Octopus or a Devil Squid...future endeavors perhaps...

I had bit of a hard time with my EMOTIONS, so I feel like I could have done better with this but she came out alright. It’s important to understand that you aren’t always going to like everything you draw and that sometimes you can be down for little or no reason. “Y’stay with me, Hal,” Ace demanded, “Kris is comin’. She’ll be here any minute.” He pressed firmly on the bullet wound to slow the bleeding, working on wrapping a bandage around the gauze that he had placed over the hole. It was only his shoulder, but Halstein had lost a lot of blood already, as had the rest of them. Ace was somewhat woozy from his own injuries and he knew his sister would be kept busy for the rest of the evening with the lot of them.

Hal’s hand clasped his forearm and they sat in silence, waiting to die, or for their blonde angel of mending to appear. There was something to be said for the companionship felt between two comrades who were on the brink of death. Ace knew that the bullet had been meant for him with how Hal had shouldered him aside at the last minute. He’d been too focused on aiming with one good eye to realize that he was a target. “I owe ya some drinks after this,” Ace promised, “so let’s jus’ both make it t’tomorrow.”

Ace didn’t know what to make of the picture he’d found, somehow lying in his tent. He definitely didn’t ask for this. The panic he’d felt when he first found out that Halstein enjoyed men as much as women started to close in on him again. Shit. Did Hal put this here? WAS HE TRYING TO HINT AT SOMETHING?

Tearing the picture into as many pieces as he could, Ace shoved the bits inside of his pillowcase and groaned. Why did people have to find him so attractive?
