This game is so fucking pretty I could cry. It's unfortunately short, but the way it ends, I'm guessing it's a prequel for an upcoming game.
Some fanart for the point and click adventure "The Frostrune"
Just finished playing Frostrune, it's a point and click (tap?) mobile game that's FREE and has NO ADS and is about a 13 year old Viking girl who must become a seer and unlock the runic magic of her island to bind the jotun who killed many of her village.
The artwork is stunning, the music is amazing, there's puzzles and riddles and what I assume is Icelandic narration, you have an inventory and figuring out which things go where is not too complicated, but if you get stumped or forget where you were there are hints in the game menu itself which unlock as you need them.
Highly recommend, took me like 2, 2 1/2 hours this morning cause I did it all at once because after finishing each puzzle you get either a riddle or an item and it's like "oh! I know what to do with that! It's on the beach!" *rapid navigation through the game world*
Also two of the puzzles involve Nordic songs and it's very nice. Made me want to go listen to Duivelspack and Wardruna. (The latter of which was mentioned in the credits)
hello yes please have one of the most beautiful video game tracks thank you
The Frostrune
Am I the only one who wonders what our little heroine will do now she won ? I mean, her family is dead, her ship is destroyed, the isle where she landed only have corpse and some spirits/ghosts... Even if she have the power to see the dead I would know her story.
I had a really good chat and Rune Magic session today with Odin. It all started with a game called The Frostrune, an amazing point and click game based on old Norse Mythology. Towards the end they put runes together to create spells. This is something I've never done before so I asked Odin if it was possible, he said it was. So I asked him to help me with some and they were all super relevant to what I need right now. - Gaining insight to the metaphysical - Overcoming negativity and conflict - Powerful cleansing and bringing growth. - Protection through troubles and disruptions. One thing I've noticed about Odin is that when you're actively trying to learn, especially learning through doing, he is very helpful and quick to clarify what he means ( I personally was using my pendulum to ask him clarification questions and I've never seen it react so fast or so powerfully.) So thank you Odin for helping me take more steps on my Rune Magic path.
The Frostrune is a point-and-click puzzle and mystery game with its central theme based on Norse mythology. I discovered this game on Google Playts gameplay is closely similar to that of the Cube Escape series but with better graphics and user experience.
In the game, the player takes on the character of Liv, a shipwreck victim who got swept to a mostly deserted island. Spirits of the island's ancestors would show up and guide the player on the quest to solve the mysteries of the island.
In order to 'solve the mysteries of the island', clues, puzzles, and riddles are presented on the different sectors of the island. Sometimes, specific items would have to be found in order to perform the required task. What makes the game very attractive is its use of mythology as a basis, giving the game a wider scope and unexpected elements to be included.
Additionally, the life-like graphics of the game makes it more appealing for other players (but also disadvantageous for the mobile phone's memory).
The main objective of the player is to solve the riddles and problems presented throughout entirety of the game. Sometimes, these puzzles could get too hard to answer correctly. For this reason, hints are provided for the use of the player.
Essentially, The Frostrune is not a very difficult game to play. What makes it difficult is the gameplay which involves the player having to answer or find a solution to the problem at hand before he or she can advance or move on to the next task.
