(Yes, I redesigned Emily's clothes)
WORLDBUILDING LET'S GOOOO-
_________________________________________
The universe, made of matter and inhabited by minds of all forms, is controlled by 3 semi-sentient forces: Chaos, Order and Time. They all exist in all worlds everywhere in evey moment.
Chaos is change, irregularities, warmth, unstability. It takes the form of a dense, gray liquid that tends to collect in areas hit by intense calamities.
Order is stillness, perfection, cold, stability. It takes the form of a smooth, colorful sphere, constantly floating a few inches from ground. It appears in the least populated areas of the world, where there are little to no living beings, and only for a few moments after the physical Chaos that formed in calamities dissipated.
Time regulates how the other two interact with the world. it gives them a rythm to follow, so that everything flows smoothly and keeps changing in a regular way. It has no physical form.

...
Chaos found a body by pure case. An earthquake, consequence of a massive volcanic eruption that was about to begin, shifted the land and the pristine cliffs where a person was walking. The stone crumbled under her feet and she fell in the sea- right into the Chaos that was starting to collect due to the disaster. It seeped into her skin, slowly and painfully absorbing her body. Her mind though lingered, since her body didn't properly die, and ended up taking that fraction of Chaos as her new body. When she came to her senses she couldn't remember her past life, and her mind- used to having a more solid body- molded the Chaos into the form that is now her standard one.
When Chaos found an incarnation, balance in the world shifted. It looked like something little, just one living being in the immensity of the universe, but that single living being held the power to change everything around her- she simply had no way to access it yet. Calamities became more frequent, and so the apparitions of Order- who lingered more and more everytime to compensate for the presence of Chaos. As civilizations expanded, truly empty places became fewer and fewer, but the imbalance in the world made Order appear nonetheless. In the end, someone found it. It appeared straight in front of him, after he almost died in a sandstorm. It lingered for so long, he had the time to ask himself whether he should run or try to understand it. Curiosity pushed him to touch it, and suddenly the pressure that Order was put under due to the instability found an exit. He was enveloped in Order and froze completely, his body going so still it instantly turned to dust. His mind took over the piece of Order he got stuck into, the matter adapting to the mind's nature painfully fast.
Now that 2 of the 3 forces had a body, balance was even more thrown off. While the two sort of balanced each other out, Time had to handle the presence of two extremely heavy beings. Sometimes things went too still, sometimes changed so fast nobody managed to keep up. Time had no physical shape, so the unbalance had no way to be compensated in material manifestations. It kept stretching and stretching, until the fabric of reality started to rip open. In one of the most densely populated cities of the time, a crack appeared. It lasted for so little that nobody noticed it. Nobody but the unfortunate person that was sucked in it the instant it appeared. For a moment it was just a mind existing in the nothing, dangling between life and death... Then Time took over the mind and used it to get a shape, so delicate and indefinite it took another few years to stabilize and finally appear in the world.

THE BEANS
Each incarnation indirectly influences the other two with their presence. When divided, all the traits related to the three forces get amplified to the point they have to try acting in the opposite way to compensate.

Emily
Emily is infused with Chaos. She can shapeshift and heals pretty quickly. She's from Greece, around the 300BC. She remembers nothing of her life before Chaos.
When on her own, she tends to be pretty chill. Chaos is energy, it's moving, running, shouting, fighting, and when she has nothing to counterbalance all that energy she has a hard time evaluating situations and holding back. Not only that, but after a certain limit her body will start losing shape until she turns into a hardly sentient blob, and from there it takes a few weeks to recover stability. For this reason she actively tries to avoid conflicts and doesn't come off as a very energic person.
Instead, when her siblings are around, she gets much more outgoing and daring, to the point of becoming almost reckless at times.
She lives in a small town close to a lake, where she works as a barman from time to time. She does it for fun, mostly: it's a simple work, she likes messing with drinks, and you get to meet different people on the rare occasions that someone visits her town.
Her only limits to shapeshifting are size and category. Due to her fear of heights, she's completely incapable of turning into anything that flies. Also, she can't get bigger than a certain amount (I'm lacking of concrete data but about the size of a small house) or smaller than about the size of a rat in volume. She can stretch and bend as much as she wants as long as the volume doesn't hit a certain limit.
She is the only one of the three incarnations that forgets things with time.

Joseph
Joseph is infused with Order. He isn't easy to hurt, since a wound is like a modification to his body and therefore goes against the nature of Order, and can fly. He has butterfly-like wings for that, but he often keeps them rolled under his coat. He's from Austria, around the 1400.
He remembers bits and pieces here and there, mostly about things unrelated to who he was- like his religion. Joseph was, and still is, catholic. He is convinced that what happened to him was caused by God, who wanted him to understand the world to a deeper level. The priests he tried to speak to didn't seem to agree with him on this point.
He's a very serene and simple person. He's trustworthy and very patient- some would say even too patient for his own good. To contrast Order's tendency to stillness, when his siblings aren't around, he's very active. He always has a little something to do, from watering plants to rearranging tools to even just going for a walk. If he doesn't, he might risk remaining frozen in place- not even realizing he is- until someone snaps him out of it.
He lives in a small community up on a mountain, where he has a little plant shop. It's not a very profitable job, but he loves it and doesn't need much money.
This human-like form is an alternative one: he has a second one that's technically his "true" one, a little less human. Joseph doesn't change his body, he merely changes how the world perceives it (in the final result it looks like his body morphs, but TECHNICALLY it doesn't). (Drawing below is old but this is the idea, I'll draw the correct design one day.)
He's the only Incarnation who can't hide his identity in any way.

Dawn
Dawn is infused with Time. Since they barely have a physical form, they can turn partially or completely immaterial. They were born in the state of New York in the 1820's.
The marks on their head are their face. They can change the pattern at will, making it look like whatever they want. They could make it look like a face, but they're much more comfortable with this pattern. When sleeping, it's just a straight horizontal line.
Technically, they own an apartment in a big city- something like an attic- but they almost never stay there. It's more like a place where they can keep all the interesting things they find while travelling.
They are probably the one that is more limited when the others aren't around. They can't get too still nor too active, because that'd cause them to start "flickering". Their body partially dissolves and reconstructs itself over and over, slowly vanishing. Once fully gone, the body can take up to a month to reconstruct itself. And since they're generally a very quiet and collected person, they are almost always travelling to balance it out.
They know everything that has happened in the past, and everything that is happening in the present. This knowledge is way too much to handle for Dawn's mind, to the point that it heavily slows down their thinking. They have millions of thoughts every second, but they manage to put into words only one or two and with a little delay. When they see something, they'll immediately be able to recall everything there is about it. This whole situation makes human interaction a little difficult, as they know everything about a person the moment they see them and sometimes forget about boundaries.
Their almost inexistent body allows them to split their mind and take control of other masses, effectively giving them telekinesis.
They can teleport. Since their body has little to no matter, they can manage to travel with their mind to any location and just regenerate their body on the spot. Moving from a world to another is not too hard either. Usually they completely disconnect their mind from their body and wander off, exploring the various worlds without the weight of a physical form.
