John Levene makes a brief appearance as an unnamed military policeman (a lance corporal, per his stripe) in The Jensen Code (ATV, 1973).
Although shot and transmitted in colour, the series master tapes were wiped and it now exists as black and white copies, barring an incomplete and damaged print of episode six.
#fave spotting#john levene#the jensen code#classic doctor who#sgt benton#doctor who#atv#1973#character actors#apologies for pretty awful pics#but as i say‚ the series exists in copy form only (although the episode 6 is a nice glimpse at what everything looked like in colour)#also John has no close ups and is onscreen only fairly briefly#he also has his cap pulled down over his eyes for most of his appearance#he goes to an outward bound centre to interview the staff and some unruly kids about missing scientist Jensen#and gets roundly mocked by the teens which i enjoyed#also! one of the teens sneers that the other soldier must be Sergeant Cork‚ which is literally the first time I've ever heard that series#referenced on old telly (despite running for the best part of the 60s it seems to have been instantly forgotten on ending its run‚ the#fate of several apparently big successes of the era) so that was a nice surprise#Levene meanwhile is disparagingly compared to both Maigret and Captain Mainwaring#these early 70s teens were clearly both tv fans and also in need of some more up to date references (Cork and Maigret had been off air for#several years each! Mainwaring is fair enough ig)
