I went to see Hadestown in Amsterdam today. Fantastic musical. Even though I've listened to the soundtrack countless times, it's still amazing to see it performed in person.

Anyway, I expected to cry about the young doomed couple, and sure there was some welling up, but you know what really got me? Hades and Persephone. Hades so furiously, desperately, trying not to listen to Orpheus singing the song of their love. Hades eventually breaking down and reaching out to Persephone. Persephone forgiving him. Their cute little dance 💜 Holding on to each other after. Gods I was in tears. A second chance, after all this time.
