You're not entitled to ANYTHING in this medium of material reality. Uh, duh, I literally stole it. Everything. Including you.
The only thing you're entitled to is ME. Because you're mine and I am a jealous god. You will find that I will be inflicted upon you if you forget your only entitlement.
so I just got done watching The Medium (2021) and I spent the entire run time waiting for the twist to be "everyone has black mold poisoning", an idea I got from a reddit review iirc with the redditor specifically noting of eerily similar to their own family's experience with mold poisoning induced paranoia. Turns out that's not in there at all!
Frankly I wish it was though, would have been more fun and a lot more devastating than the actual ending. Still a good movie! Soild 8/10.
(biting my nails) recently ive been wondering if i should make edel into the medium fragment instead. this whole time id been holding off bc i thought it made the most sense for orfeia (yes i renamed her) to be face to face w a version of her sibling thats practically her, but isnt it another tasty flavor of harrowing to confront a version of her sibling thats an only child, and his loneliness made him into a bitter person that died alone? n by extension, orfeia's choice to abandon her sibling leaving them bitter n alone, even if for a noble reason, Was the wrong one? and yet, even if he died alone, he still found a life for himself after... maybe its the fact orfeia left eri and the pain she caused them thats actively hindering their growth. what if you were such a fuck up of a sister that your sibling found a better life in a world you didnt exist in. is that insane or what
i think the role the medium plays in the story suits edel more or less pretty well anyway, if he Did meet another version of himself he'd like to stay largely uninvolved in that life. of course he'd still react and root for the princess from afar but he knows he'd be pissed off if his own alternate selves were backseat gaming his life. its the energy of someone telling u to do smth when u already wanted to do it so it demotivates you from doing it. like bro stfu we literally have the same mind I WAS GETTING TO THAT. his detached attitude would be in a more "if i had to figure out everything on my own then you can too" way than anything else (i had a hard time figuring out the medium before clearly lmao). but the idea of him mellowing out around the lover (instead of fighting with her) bc she reminds medium edel of tia is really funny lol.
ill think about it..

Summary:
Thomas Rekowicz never asked to be a medium, yet his ability has shaped and ruined most of his life. Pursued by a government that wants to control him and burdened by an inner companion he has spent years rejecting, Thomas keeps losing every piece of peace he manages to build.
Now, shattered by loss and hunted by ghosts, both living and spectral, Thomas must face the truth he has avoided for years: he cannot outrun himself forever. Can he make peace with the spirit bound to him? Can he break the cycle that keeps destroying everything he cares about?
At its heart, this is a story about family, love, and learning to accept who you are, no matter how painful the journey.
