I don't know if this is an asexual-thing, or if it's actually more common than that...but... If I had a magic wand right now that could DE-HORNY the entire world with a wave, I would wave that sucker like I was trying to get rid of a swarm of mosquitos! Sex is... everywhere. Just everywhere. Much like drinking / alcohol, I feel like it's one of those things I'm just not into that the entire world wants everyone over the age of 18 to be into. THIS IS MANDATORY FUN! And, it's like, I get it... most people have these instincts so sexy curvy people on billboards and whatever are used to sell things in this capitalist nightmare we live in. Hell, I will enjoy and tell sex-jokes and love the Hell out of bad innuendo... But you know, I seem to remember a time (perhaps it's me being an old fogey) when actual full-on, live-action P-0-RN was actually something you had to seek out to get. My first encounter with it was my childhood best friend and I found my Dad's stash in his getaway-from-the-world shed out in the backyard and we were going "Ewwww!" at pages depicting a blowjob and put it back awkwardly because we were little girls, my friend being from a very religious family and me... ( well, I'd become religious for a while later but my family wasn't very), but 20 some-odd years later would find out that "asexual" was a valid identity. Later on, in the early days of the Internet, I know that such content was not difficult to find without a magazine-rack purchase, but things were dial-up, you tended to have to seek it out if you wanted it and I wasn't into it because I was into reading fanfiction about The X-Files and Pokemon. My point is, I didn't get bots / people / collectives trying to follow my personal blogs advertising their full-on videos depicting sloppy axe-wounds and bouncing bondage on beds with no warnings. I... personally check out every blog that follows any of mine - (and I have several, dividing up art, writing and a few different fandoms). Unless I actually know someone ahead of time - a friend with a tumblr - I am going to check out who follows. Sometimes, I get a real person, a person who's into fandoms / art / writing - and pretty interesting people whose blogs are a pleasure to browse through. More often than not, I get empty blogs that are obviously blogs / part of scams and those get blocked and reported. Now there's an uptick of full-on, non-warned for P-0-RN! blogs. I have to scroll down slightly to see "empty or not" and I get a first post or pinned post of something I just don't want to see and it feels like... some kind of visual assault - a rudness. It's like finding a cockroach in my sock drawer. I know that there's a stereotype that we aces are "against fun" or something, that we're prudes. I can assure you that I'm not. I am not a Republican. I don't want to put a sex-monitoring chip in your hand. As long as it's consenting, adult and human or sapient-fantasy-creature, I don't care what you bang. I simply do not care. I JUST DON'T WANT TO SEE IT. I have a "filter mature content" on tumblr set for content I do not want to see that keeps me from having to put up with fanart I find annoying in my scrolling. I am a mature adult. What I am complaining about are the scams / bots / people who want to sell you something who think everyone loves watching people bang and want to make themselves look "legitimate" on algorhythms. I want them to die and burn in Hell. I wish that kind of content was something that people, while free to seek out, was something that people had to seek out. God, I don't want to ruin anyone's fun, but I swear, if I could de-horny the world, the temptation is there, I honestly would, just to be left alone for a moment.
I was in a meeting for 6 hours and I got hit with years of content just now lol . Wtf. It's so bizarre having this much after virtually nothing.
I can’t imagine if I was getting all of it at once. At least most of us had the day to absorb it. Take your time, although Zach Sang is coming up fast.
Also, a six hour meeting is my definition of hell. Sorry, DW.
