Grace?
"Are you seeing that, Cole?"
"I'm not quite sure what that is, Mx. Plawright..."
working on drawing some of my friends yaelokre sonas! (mine is on the right :D)
thinking about this 24/7
Okay, moving on from TADC. Time to get upset over a different fandom. Out of all fandoms, I didn't expect Wonderfolk to be the ones who piss me off but here we are ig. Was just minding my business scrolling on TikTok and I see a post from Yaelokre about how they're removing the Playwright and Cooper from the story and how they are hoping for And the Hound - Reprise to be taken down. I read through and my fandom-hiding ass finds out people have been sexualising both of those characters? I don't understand why people see adult characters in any media, no matter how wholesome and pure it's supposed to be and decide that's what they should say or do. Especially when said characters are directly based of the person who created them??? What is the thought process there. I honestly don't have much to say, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that they are no longer part of the story. And I'm really upset over the fact one of my favourite songs is likely to be taken down and possibly never return. Why do people have to ruin things?
further clarification on yaelokre's post regarding cooper and the playwright.
tl;dr - they aren't deleted, they're just closed off to the public. their connection to the lark is still canon. aside from that, any information previously shared is now outdated.

As some of my friends know I’m a MASSIVE fan of Yaelokre. So for my Digital Art class final I decided why not make a poster for the Lark? Except these are my own designs for them once they’ve all grown up! I’ll explain my choices and head canons below!
Headcanons + choices:
1. This is the Lark on somewhat of a reunion tour after traveling solo for a while. They’ve each grown up to embody one of the Hearkers (who, in my headcanon, are fictional characters/legends similar to that of Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy) The Lark themselves aren’t the Hearkers but rather dress up as them and travel around to perform and tell stories to children to make them believe in the lessons they teach. (Like how parents bring their children to meet Santa at a mall)
2. I made the choice to not have them wearing their masks mostly because I just didn’t want to draw them lol. But I guess you could assume they “grew out of” their former selves to become adults now. This is also somewhat reflected in the fact that I used Songs Of Origin as a base for their poses lol
3. I headcanon that Peregrine was raised by a strict family that forced them to cut their hair short constantly (which I plan to expand on with more art). This is mostly based on how, as Keath has updated Peregrine’s design, their hair has grown longer and longer. As Peregrine grows up they grow out their hair as much as possible as an act of rebellion.
4. Cole and Clémente’s designs are partially based on their oldest designs, and on their newest designs to sort of bring together that “Past & Future” theme they have going on
5. Out of all of the characters in this poster, I think I’d like to expand on Kingsley’s design the most. Not only can you not see most of their outfit, but I forgot the pigtail at the top of their head to match Peregrine :( I’ll definitely end up trying to work on their outfit more eventually. Though I’m very proud of how their clothes came out lol.
6. The lower half of the poster, the information part, has a few Easter eggs! First off I named the Playwright’s theater “The Legacy Theater” to show that storytelling in this manner is a tradition of sorts for them. It’s also located in Felicity, Eld, the name of the town and country Meadowlark/Foreward/Yaelokre takes place! (At least I hope those are the correct names). Next the date of their performance is the same date that Harpy Hare was originally released (though set in the 27th year of whatever century they live in). Finally, Quest/the Playwright is said to be the one who wrote the scripts and songs for the Lark, as I wanted to make sure they were included in this. It felt only right to do so :)
So yeah that’s about it! I had so much fun making this piece and I hope I have the energy to continue making more for this little “AU” of mine soon lol. Farewell!
