Tri has a very divided reception with both strong support and strong criticism. Many of the most common complaints come from elements that are straightforward, which makes it worth looking at the series from a different angle.
From the beginning, Tri frames its premise with the lines:
"Demiurge, the soulless creator... Idea, the true form of the world..."
These ideas come from gnostic and platonic philosophy, where the Demiurge is a creator working within limits, and the Idea refers to the complete form of things.
The Digital World exists under a system that defines its limits, and everything inside it is shaped by those limits. The corruption in the Digimon is part of how those limits affect what can exist.
When the text refers to the Idea as the true form of the world, it means things have a complete version of what they are, but inside the Digital World they appear in reduced form because they are constrained by that framework.
Applied to Tri, this is seen in the Digital World, the Digimon, and the bonds between partners, which all struggle to exist fully within the conditions that shape them.
Think of it like trying to draw a dog you can clearly picture in your mind, but you're limited by the tools and the surface you're working on. The image in your mind is complete but what ends up on the page is a simplified version of it. In the same way, the Digital World can only show limited versions of things because everything inside it has to fit within the limits of the system.
In this sense:
1) infected Digimon behave as something the system can no longer keep stable within its defined structure.
2) bonds between Humans and Digimon become unstable as doubts, distance, or misalignment appear.
3) the Digital World is an environment that doesn't behave consistently, without any clear way to stabilize it.
Corrupted binary data, space warps, and the appearance of soulless replicas like Imperialdramon point to a world breaking down from within.
It's ya boy You're at the start! NEXT
Ok. Enough with this "season 1" crap.
I was tolerant of it when it was the reboot. Weird gap of time, a lot of stuff has happened, new format, different tone, WELL THAT'S ALRIGHT THEN! But this is just a new doctor and a new writer and a new companion. That's the way this show flows, it isn't another reboot. IT'S JUST THE DAMN SHOW, GUYS! So. We propose just going back to the old numbering system and ignoring partial and fake reboots just like I ignore the timeless child. From here on out I'm calling all seasons after season 26 "season 27", "season 28", "season 29", "season 30", "season 31", "season 32", "season 33", "season 34", "season 35", "season 36", "season 37", "season 38", "season 39", and "season 40" as is sensical.
Just re-watched season 2 of Charmed, and I still find myself shipping Macy with Harry/Jimmy and Abigail.
There’s this look between Harry and Macy that’s indescribable. Watching them together feels like I’m intruding on a moment that wasn’t meant for my eyes. You know, in fact, there are times where I’m not able to tell if what’s happening on screen is real or not, which is a testament to the actors themselves...so kudos to them but the chemistry I saw/see between Harry/Macy is also there between Macy and Abigail.
I tried to get on-board the Mel/Abigail train. I really did, but whenever Abigail and Macy are together, something in Abigail’s face relaxes and gives way to her being more open to the other woman (and in this case, it’s always Macy) in the room.
I don’t know how to articulate this well but there’s something different in how Abigail responds to, let’s say Harry or Mel, then there is when she’s alone with Macy. The chemistry is so much stronger, imo but there’s another element I’m picking up that’s absent when she’s paired with other characters....and for the life of me, I’m unable to name it but I digress.
I’ll try to get on board whatever ship Charmed offers but similar to the chemistry I caught between Harry and Macy in the first episode of Season 1, I see it between Macy and Abigail and I’m afraid no matter who they pair Abigail up with, nothing will change it.
[id: a drawing of a half elf with medium brown skin and acne scars and curly blond hair standing under an archway of leaves their cape and hair blowing in the wind. their dark sweater is striped with the bisexual flag and their cloak is in the colors of the agender flag. they stand smiling as leaves flutter around them. end id]
so this year @shaiylo specifically requested my character from our dnd game bc i didn’t do them last year. this one was a bit difficult bc i dont think sorbus would actively identify with any label in the canon of our game, but i chose agender and bisexual bc those are the closest to how i as their player understand them.

Charmed Season 2 Spoilers
Ok is it just me being stubborn to change or is the whole second season...lacking? Like it feels like something is missing, I don’t feel as invested in it as I do when I watch the first season.
Also there’s a lot of weird shit??
Like when they were like “We aReNt tHe fiRsT cHArmeD oNeS?!”
Bro yeah??? Who told you that you were?? What happened that even gave you that impression like??? And then it was a whole big deal????? They really tried to turn it into a whole storyline after they spent the whole first season establishing that these women are not stupid. I just???
Idk it feels like a patchwork storyline to me. “Oh shit that doesn’t really make sense so uuuuhhhh we’ll give Parker a sister!! Oh fuck but that leaves this....ok ok how about we give Harry feelings for Macy!!”
Now it might just be that it’s sooo different from the last season so I might just be a stubborn asshole but I just feel massively disappointed right now.
They literally took away everything i got invested in during season one and didn’t bother to create replacement bonds. Idk I’m just saaaad I was really looking forward to season two :(
