Jon Stewart destroys the GOP's "We Built That" convention theme, suggesting what they really built is this: "An alternate reality, where Barack Obama is a socialist Muslim, global warming is from polar bear farts, Fox News is fair and balanced, and the greatest threat to our way of life in a time of unprecedented economic inequality and institutional advantage for the wealthy is two dudes who wanna get married!"

Last night, Paul Ryan made painfully clear that he thinks we're all profound idiots who'll believe an endless string of lies, so long as they're packaged well and presented with conviction.

CNN's Wolf Blitzer said he counted "seven or eight" claims that "fact checkers will have some opportunities to dispute," but concluded the lies didn't matter because it was "a powerful speech" that gave Republicans what they "were hoping for."

For those of you who didn't watch, a summary of the RNC speeches:

HELLO FELLOW WHITE AMERICANS.

Voter suppression is what our founding fathers loved (no irony intended).

Big businesses were never ever helped by the Government. Please ignore all history that says otherwise. THEY ARE MADE UP BY NASTY LIBERALS.

DON'T FORGET OBAMA WANTS TO GIVE LAZY BLACK AND BROWN PEOPLE YOU MONEY.
