I just started watching The Magnus Archives. I'm on Season 1 episode 10 or 11. It's nothing like what I was expecting, but it's so so good. Honestly it's better than I was expecting. I really like that it's a bunch of different stories, like an anthology, so you get something fresh and new every single time - but there's still recurring characters and motifs.

Really loving the mystery of piecing together what this world looks like just from the information in the statements, plus the little comments that John sometimes makes. Having the worldbuilding be delivered in the form of short snippets is super clever, and really keeps me on my toes

It is a little hard keeping track of things though, I'm always paranoid that I've forgotten something - and there's some glaring reference that I'm missing 😅

Also low-key finding Johnathan's scepticism kinda grating. Like - THIS IS YOUR JOB. The evidence is RIGHT THERE, WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S A COINCIDENCE!?

Most satisfying part so far was hearing him seem genuinely unnerved and even CURIOUS about the prophetic dreams a client had previously that predicted the last archivist's death.

I can't wait to hear more about the Magnus Institute. Clearly they're more than just the archives, and at one point Johnathan implies they have field agents who need to deal with the red dress lady.

yeah, i absolutely agree that it's very ooc for techno to be in the navy. i actually know a decent amount about that time period and while i can appreciate the intent, techno's ideals and rigidity about them is solely about anarchism and his desire to stop people from being coerced into doing things they don't want to. specifically fighting in wars. that's a huge part of his character, not wanting people to die for something they don't believe in and choose. i've said this before but i definitely believe it's because people assume any ideology is inter-changeable but it's not. like as an anarchist, i'm stuck on this point, it's not to pick on the authors, it's merely something really out of character. - simplepotatofarmer

YEAH honestly i think the whole. implication that ideologies that are So different from each other are exchangeable annoys me more than tech being in the navy cause like. i kinda assumed they were just. basing it solely off potc and just. making techno a kinda norrington esque character where he Does have pretty good morals and its just a more fantastical approach where the navys less fucked up than reality. but like. the fact that they took technos Strong Ideologies (that in canon were based on his beliefs in freedom and against exploitation) and just. applied them to the opposite belief? like he doesnt have anything to base his strong ideologies in? that honestly annoys me so much more than historical inaccuracies

PHP: Redirect to the same page, changing $_GET

I have this PHP piece of code that gets $_GET[‘id’] (a number) and do some stuff with this. When its finished I need to increase that number ($_GET[‘id’]) and redirect to the same page but with the new number (also using $_GET[‘id’]).

I am doing something like this:
