( psa that apparently the hero didn't know about : don't shovel down fruits after having eaten nothing for the past day? And also don't drink water after eating fruits like that??The consequences are dire.)

I guess you could say, Colby’s childhood wasn’t the easiest...but it wasn’t the hardest either. There’s always something that marks us and shapes us into the people we are today and unfortunately for Colby, there were aspects of his life that pushed him into being the person he is today, which admittedly, can be both a curse and a blessing.
He was only five years old when he had to watch his mother lose a husband and himself lose a father, he was only five years old when life decided the new road ahead of him was a road he would have to follow along with his mother and the baby she was carrying inside. For years, she had to carry their home on her shoulders, working two jobs, sometimes even taking extra shifts, everything so her kids had something to eat every single day.
Needless to say, Colby grew up admiring his mother, she was such a strong and beautiful woman, he always felt like doing more for her and his little brother. One night, around the age of fourteen, the young boy caught his mother crying, holding a picture of his father against her chest. Even after all these years, she cried and thought about his dad, as if it was only yesterday when they were notified of his death.
He couldn’t live with that.
At school, he was a rather lively boy, sporty too, but often grounded and sent to detention due to his jokes completely out of place; Hey, he just wanted to entertain his friends with some good jokes! Jokes he would also tell his mother, jokes she would laugh at, and to him? That was the best thing in the entire world. At night however, the happy Colby facade would disappear, the poor little boy mourning the death of his father, thinking about all of the things he wanted to do for his mother and his brother. One day, he would be successful...and rich! And he would give his family everything they deserved, because his father would be proud of that, right?
One day, he woke up thinking they needed a new beginning and after talking to his mother for days, she finally agreed, starting their new life from Iowa to Massachusetts. Colby was only nineteen when disgrace knocked on his door again. How was he supposed to know his little fourteen year old brother had mixed himself with a small gang of thugs? There was no way! Especially when he decided to take on two jobs plus school, everything so his mother could live a peaceful life. Well, his brother’s mistake cost their mother’s mobility. When the gang broke into their home, wanting the fourteen year old to pay all of the money he owed them, but ultimately shooting their mother, leaving her paraplegic.
It was tragic, it was unfortunate, but even then, he knew he had to be the happy Colby, cracking jokes, pulling pranks, everything so his mother could have a big smile on her face while his brother dealt with his demons in a juvenile detention facility. Taking his mother back to Iowa, he hoped those bad memories would stay behind, while he worked hard on becoming a cop, someone always ready to seek for justice and in the process? Help youth.
Years passed, and Colby broke all types of communication with his younger brother, but always giving his mother all of the attention and love in the world. When the possibility of getting a wonderfully paid job in Boston knocked on his door, he didn’t hesitate to take it, leaving his mother in Iowa, not wanting to risk her sanity with all the possible bad memories she could have.
Incompetent. That had been the word that changed his life forever. After weeks and weeks and weeks of not being able to find the murderer of a thirteen year old, Colby, who was always deemed as the ‘prankster’ and the ‘funny’ one of the squad, exploded in a fit of rage, calling his teammates: “Incompetent imbeciles”. How was it possible? How, after all these weeks, they couldn’t find...ANYTHING? While he worked day and night, slowly but surely finding the perfect path to the murderer’s identity.
However, such incident cost him his position in the Boston squad, getting transferred to New York, to a new place where he hoped justice would prevail, no matter what.

Their sass is the first thing one notices about them. They always have a bad joke for every situation and sometimes come across as tasteless when dealing with victims. With a mysterious past - no one knows why they were transferred from Boston to New York and they don’t talk about it - they worked at homicides before making the jump to SVU and take their job very seriously. Deep inside they are a good, gentle person, but very deep inside.

THE LEGACY: When the Legacy joined the squad they were assigned to be the Smartass’ temporary partner. Days became months and months became years and they became very good partners. The Smartass doesn’t care about the Legacy’s father’s fame or who they are, and the Legacy seems to be the only person who can handle the Smartass’ sarcasm and bad jokes. They became friends, siblings even, and would most definitely take a bullet for each other.
THE PROFILER: They disliked each other since the first moment they met. This isn’t a case of unresolved sexual tension, they simply can’t stand each other. The Profiler sees the Smartass as the weak link of the division and can’t understand how they even passed the detective exam. The Smartass thinks the Profiler needs to get off their high horse and that a degree doesn’t make them better than the others. Both avoid each other to the maximum.
I'm the Smartass, Henry, why the hell would you follow me? Is it because I have the freecie1 URL? I'm thinking about turning it into a blog about whales. Does that sound okay? Good.
This is why things don't get finished - Caranthir shows up.
"Do you remember that time we were talking to Mairon, before Atar got suspicious of how much time he spent with Melkor?" Caranthir munched on an apple when he finished, hoping Melkor hadn't poisoned the food as well.
Celegorm nodded
"Do you think what he said about the old of the secondborn going mad in their old age could also apply to elves? Because grandfather has to be going mad, if he thinks there's nothing wrong with Melkor appearing, cursing Uncle Fingolfin's son - though I guess he never said which, we could always hope it catches Turgon - and then vanishing."
Further discussion was stopped by Fëanor's icy glare.
