thoughts on the most recent brooklyn nine nine episode [s7ep8 the takeback]

it felt very much so like a filler episode just so they have a passage of time basically. to me it seemed like the big themes of season 7 was going to be peraltiago pregnancy which is ongoing but needs time to progress and holt being a uniformed officer which is already over.

the plots being the vending machine plot and the doug judy plot were both very bland. the vending machine plot can’t hav much said about it, they needed a new vending machine. they got one, it broke and they found a silver lining.

as for the doug judy plot, i can’t complain about how we had no buildup because that’s the nature of doug and jakes relationships. however, i feel like this was probably one of the weakest doug judy episode although it was fun to see it following the general theme of jake trusting doug and then a plot twist and then another plot twist. that is kept pretty consistent between doug judy episodes. it was fine. it wasn’t great but it wasn’t terrible.

it was fun, not great. some episodes that are just filler episodes can be iconic such as [s5ep14 the box] but this was pretty bland and honestly weak.
